And the Beat Goes On. . .

Our dear little child is marching to the beat of it's own drum, and has decided to delay entrance into the world. I know I'm technically not due yet, but when the Dr. says you won't make it and gets my hopes all up it gets pretty frustrating!! I have worked quite a few hours over the last few days, even though the Dr. said not to and that hasn't even provoked labor!! Hopefully today is the last day of session, and that 's what the baby was waiting on.

Truly, there's not much to report. Adam and I just feel like we are sitting around waiting, as I'm sure many of you are as well. I feel huge, and am really uncomfortable today (more than any other day so far). Hopefully, when I go to the Dr. on Tuesday he'll send us to the hospital.

For the record. . . the blog poll has officially closed today, and the final vote is 26 voting Girl and 18 voting Boy!!

The Bag is Packed & I'm Ready to Go!!

I finally packed my bag last night, and now I am officially ready to go. I feel like all I'm doing is sitting around waiting for this baby to come. I'm so glad I'm not going to be pregnant all summer because I can't imagine having a big belly and being hot!! It would be truly miserable. Basically, I guess this post is just to complain. Bring on the baby please!! We are ready!!

37 weeks & 2 days

My new Mother's Day ring!!

Today I went to the Dr. for my weekly appointment. Gained a little over a pound, my blood pressure was up a little bit, and I had a touch of protein in my urine. The last two items are signs of preeclampsia, along with the feet swelling that I have been having. He said both my blood pressure and protein counts were up just slightly, but he wants to keep a bit closer of an eye on me, so I go back again on Tuesday. He also checked me and I am dilated to 3 cm and 70% effaced, so more than likely in the next week we are going to be proud parents of a little baby girl or boy!! Dr. Putman also said the baby was probably between 7.5 and 8 lbs.

It seems so crazy to think all of our waiting and hoping and praying is about to come full circle!! When I got home from work tonight Adam and I decided we better go get a little boy outfit and a little girl outfit to bring the baby home in. I picked out an outfit for a girl and Adam for the boy, so we'll soon see which one we'll be using!! We also went to buy the pack-n-play that we registered for only to find out that it has been recalled! The swing we wanted to buy was also sold out, so tonight's shopping was kind of a bust. Don't worry we went to eat at the Pasta House and it made it all better. And, today my Mother's Day present came in as well.

Feel free to let us know when you think the baby is going to come and how much you think the baby will weigh, etc. So, anyway that's the latest, as usual we'll keep you posted!!

Grabbing a quick snack!!

As of today, I am 37 weeks and considered full term!! I'm taking a breather from work real quick. I've been going strong for the last several days. Worked 12 hours on Monday and 16 hours on Tuesday. Don't know how long I'm going to be able to keep this pace going. This may really just push me over the edge and go into labor early. I'm also posting some pictures that Brandy took of me hard at work!! I really haven't been having in Braxton Hicks contractions that I can feel anyway, well maybe I am but I'm running around too much to notice! My feet are still swelling, but have been going down for the most part when I go to bed at night. I've resorted to flip-flops this week at work, seems to help a little bit! Not to mention my toes look cute, so I get to show them off!!

I go to the Dr. again on Friday, so as usual I'll keep you posted. If I get home at a decent time tonight I'll add a belly picture. Adam said this morning it looked like the baby had grown, so I guess that means my belly is getting bigger too! Maybe I can convince Adam to make a guest appearance on the blog!

Happy Belated Mother's Day!!

UPDATE 5-14-09: I added a picture of the flowers Adam got me for Mother's Day now that they are in full bloom!!! I LOVE THEM!!!! My ring still hasnt' come yet though!! Hopefully soon!!

So, not much is going on these days. Seems like these next 4 weeks are going to go soooo slow. I'm ready to be done, which is something I didn't feel would happen since it took us so long to get pregnant. It has happened though!!! I'm starting to feel so tired and the baby just loves to move around, what seems like all the time!

The last few days I have been battling a swollen eye/cheek. It started on Friday and progressively got bigger. I went to the Dr. on Monday and he said it could be allergies or could be a buffalo gnat bite. He recommended Benadryl and allergy eye drops, as well as an ice pack. Things are better today, but not great. Hopefully that will clear up soon. Can't take the Benadryl during the day or I'd be asleep in my office!

I technically celebrated my first Mother's Day on Sunday!! Adam bought me a ring, so that I would always be able to remember my 1st Mother's Day. The bad news is, it didn't come when it was supposed to so I haven't actually received it yet. In the mean time he bought me a Star Gazer Lily plant to plant in the back yard. It's so pretty!! I love it!! My Mom also bought me some Dove chocolates, because she says every Mom needs good chocolates! As a matter of fact, I just ate one, and it was delicious!!!

So, Happy Belated to all the wonderful Mom's out there!! I can't wait to officially be part of the club!!! I go to the Dr. on Thursday, so I'll update you later this week!

Offical Baby Room Pictures

So, here are the long awaited pictures of the Baby's room all put together. I think we're going to need to get a book shelf or something to hold a few books and toys. Adam may make one. There are a few things I still need to hang up, but for the most part we are ready to go!

Daycare, Baby's Room, etc.

This has been a busy week! We went out to eat with Grandma & Grandpa Kershaw and Aunt Sara and Uncle Travis on Sunday at the Olive Garden. They then stopped by to see the baby's room. I still hadn't put all the baby shower gifts away so it was kind of messy, but they go the idea!

Adam and I went and looked at daycare in Sherman on Monday, Just for Kids, and we liked it a lot! Thankfully, they have an opening in August so our precious unborn child now officially has a home away from home! I'm so relieved to have this off my "to do" list. It was really worrying me, and Adam even admitted it was starting to worry him! That isn't something Adam does very often.

I got the rest of the baby's room put together on Monday too. Adam hung up all the pictures and I think we are good to go!! Thanks to Trista for having a good eye on our wall art! It looks great. I'll try and post pictures sometime this weekend. Work has just been really busy, even though I'm taking a break right now to write this blog!!

Yesterday and today I have been extremely tired and a bit crabby (I know a fountain Pepsi would help out greatly!!). I really hope I'm not like this for the next 6 weeks. I will be truly unbearable! Our child has figured out it can really move and has been moving like crazy lately. The child has also discovered Mommy's ribs!! Not fun at all, in case you were wondering. I also am experiencing some swollen feet and ankles today. I'm hoping it's because of all the running around I've done today. Need some flip-flops for the office! I have been trying to remind myself, that I am so lucky to be pregnant after all we have been through, but it's been kind of hard!

I go to the Dr. tomorrow, so I'll let you know what happens!

So, I wrote the earlier post at work today and then took the picture when I got home. After uploading the photo I realized I did get a few pictures before the shower started. Trista did such a great job with all the decorations and the cake was too cute. Hope you enjoy!! Thanks again Trista! I truly appreciate all your hard work! 33 Weeks Pregnant

We now officially have 7 weeks left, and 5 of those weeks I'm in session at work. I'm guessing time is really going to fly by! As you can tell from the picture my belly is continuing to grow. A few people have told me I look like I'm ready to pop (I don't think I look that big!!), so I hate to see what 7 more weeks of growing is going to bring!!

The baby has been very very active the last few days! It's been doing some extreme acrobats! Becky, from work, saw my belly moving the other day. She said it looked like I had an alien in me, which is kind of what it does look like from time to time!

Adam finished putting up baseboard and window trim in the baby's room last night. Now all we have to do is finish putting away all the wonderful gifts I got at my baby shower on Saturday. I'm going to post pictures from the big event, but my mother-in-law has to send them to me first because my camera batteries died right at the beginning of the party!! Boo! Everything at the party was so dang cute though!! Thanks Trista!!! You did an awesome job!!

Baby's Room Pictures

Today Daddy put together the crib and started to set up the room. One of the dressers is damaged, and we won't be able to get a new one until June! At least we can get a new one. Things are slowly coming together. Adam still has some things to do tomorrow, like put up base board and window trim, electric outlets, and paint closet doors. He sure has been working hard, but it's really starting to pay off. I'm still not for sure what I'm going to hang on the walls yet, so they are still bare. I also have a rocking chair, but right now I'm using it in the basement because the leather couch lends no support to my pregnant body these days!!

31 weeks pregnant

Today I am 31 weeks pregnant, only 9 to go! Time is really starting to fly by. I started to not feel very well last night and still don't today. My throat hurts and I have a runny nose. I left work a little early today and came home and took a nap. Can't stop thinking about a hamburger from the grill, so that's what we are having tonight for supper! I can't wait, that and some chips and dip!! YUM YUM!!

Daddy is upstairs working on the baby's room. He's ripping out carpet, and I'm sitting at the computer. Sometimes it really is nice to be pregnant and not work so hard!!! I know I've said it before, but I can't wait to get this room together. I'm always so impatient during any kind of home remodel, as soon as we start I'm ready for it to all be done. I really hate all the mess that comes along with it as well!

Last night we went out to eat with Grandma Kershaw for her birthday. We went to D'Arcy's Pint. It was really good! Today is also Uncle Jordan's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA KERSHAW & UNCLE JORDAN!! We love you both!

Breastfeeding & Painting

So today was devoted to baby. We got up this morning and went to a class on breastfeeding. It was about 2 1/2 hours long and there were about 12 people in the class. It was basically a Q & A session that was really helpful. We also watched a video that showed us different signs of hunger and different feeding techniques. The film was very dated and if I didn't have my back to Adam the whole time I think I may have been the immature girl that started laughing hysterically. All in all I would say a good learning experience.

We left the class and dropped off all our donations after last night's cleaning spree. We then headed to Lowe's to buy ceiling paint and a few other odds and ends. We successfully managed to get the room painted today!! YEAH!! Manda came over for a little while and helped, but we mostly chatted while Adam did a good part of the work. I truly do appreciate all his hard work! Now we just have to wait for the carpet to get laid in about a week and then we'll finally be able to bring the furniture in. I'm so excited to see it all put together!!!

So, overall we've had a very busy, but productive day. I'm ready for bed now, so that's were I'm headed!!

Clean Up, Clean Up!!

Adam went to go pick up some fish for supper, so I'm taking a break. We've officially started tackling the baby's room. I didn't realize how much crap is in there!! I have so many photo albums and loose photos. Adam and I have spent more time than we should have going through old photos, wishing we were still skinny!!! We've made a good dent in, but the question is where do we put all this stuff. A lot is going to Good Will, but there's some stuff you just can't pitch! I know I'll get it figured out, but it's just not very fun!

I did leave work early today. I was seriously so exhausted from this week of work, but for the first time in the 8 sessions I've worked there we actually passed a small capital bill yesterday!!! It was pretty exciting to see that happen. Anyway, I figured I deserved a little afternoon nap, so I stopped at Babies R Us and bought this wonderful pregnancy pillow and came home and took a 2 hour nap! It was great!!!

Well, I guess I've successfully wasted enough time. . . back to work!

Lamaze Class

Today Adam and I went to a Lamaze class at Memorial Hospital. I was worried we were going to end up being next to a couple like the Duggars who have a zillion kids and come every time to refresh their memory or the all natural hippie that would never ever consider putting any kind of medication into their body. As the case may be, we didn't have either situation. There was only 4 other couples in the class, all having their first child and close to our age. Adam and I were the talkers of the group, and even recieved a few extra diapers for participating!!

I would say we learned several things today that I hope will be helpful. I'm thinking it's going to be like our wedding day. . . we practiced the night before but the day of the wedding I had to keep asking Adam what to do. I'm guessing the birthing process is going to very similar, Adam is going to have to be the voice of reason. I have no doubt in my mind that he will be a phenominal birthing coach! That's not to say I may hate him during it, but I know he will mean well. I asked the teacher what the percentage is of women that get epidurals and she said about 83%, and I'm guessing more than likely I'm going to be one of those women. I at least know we learned some tools that will get us through part of the birthing process. Who knows I may surprise myself!

My lower back has really been hurting the last few days. We learned a few techniques today that seemed to help releive some pressure, so I'm hoping those continue to work. Also learned about using a birthing ball, which we have an exercise ball at home that is essentially the same thing, so I plan on using that at home as well. I think I also may need to add another pillow at night. I currently sleep with a body pillow and two regular pillows, which Adam makes fun of me for. The teacher actually said it's normal to use about 5, so I think I 'm doing pretty good. I guess it's good we have a king size bed and Adam doesn't need much room to sleep at night!!

Tonight we're off to Thomas and Amy's house for a little get together. Should be fun, especially since today is so beautful out!! Sure would be nice to have a beer on a day like this, but I know that's not an option . . . well maybe a sip just for memories sake!!
