Family Visit

Today we went to Nana and Papa's house to visit. We haven't seen them since the beginning of the month! Alex played with his cousins and was harassed by Papa, as usual. I think we may be getting some teeth, so we're starting to get a little cranky and a lot slobbery. We also were able to visit with Great Grandma Meehan. Briggs played with Amos, and was MIA when we were ready to leave. I went grocery shopping and by time I came home Briggs had returned from his adventures. We're now at home watching the Grammy's and getting ready for another busy week.

Alex is on the verge of saying Dad!!! This boy is growing up way too fast!! I also need to mention that every time he sees the camera he just starts smiling!!! I guess I've trained him well!!

Mommy's Little Helper

Last night before bed, Alex was helping Mommy fold laundry!!! What a good little helper!! This kid loves the laundry basket. We put him in one every morning while we get ready for work!! It cracks me up!!

Playing with my Radio Flyer

Alex is starting to figure out his Radio Flyer Rocket. It'll still be a little while before he can ride it himself, but he's having fun with it nonetheless! This is what we played with Friday night while we were waiting for Gramma and Grandpa to come visit. They brought pizza and played for a little while before Alex was ready to go to bed.

This last week was the first week all month that I actually worked all week!! Alex is finally feeling better, but is a little snotty and has a cough. Daddy calls him the snot goblin!! RSV (a respiratory virus) has been going around the daycare, but so far we've been able to steer clear! On Friday he was only one of three kids in his room. There usually is eight!! We go back to the Dr this Friday to get a recheck on Alex's ears. Hopefully we'll get the all clear, and stay healthy for a while!!

Meet Teddy!

Alex had become very fond of a particular stuffed animal lately, we call him Teddy (yes, original I know). Alex can call him whatever he wants when he has the ability to choose. Anyway, he likes to cuddle with him and kiss/eat him. He doesn't actually sleep with him in his bed, but he does when we're laying on the couch.

Speaking of laying on the couch that it was we did all weekend long. We only left the house on Saturday to go to church, and we didn't even get dressed on Sunday!!! We are really loving these lazy and stress free weekends at home. Since we haven't done anything and haven't been feeling good I've pretty much reported the happenings of the Kershaw household for the last week!!

Sick Again!!

Last Wednesday night we had by far the worst night since Alex was born. We saw every hour of the night except the 4 o'clock hour! It was pretty rough stuff. Alex had been trying to fight off an ear infection, but unfortunately lost the battle. I called in sick to work on Thursday and called the Dr. She said to give Alex the antibiotic that we had put off the week before in hopes that we wouldn't need it. Adam came home at lunch so that I could run to the pharmacy. We napped in the afternoon and were able to go to work/daycare on Friday. We have to go back for a recheck once we are done with antibiotic. Hoping we get an all clear on the ears!! Fingers are crossed, but so far so good!!

Hanging Out in the Closet!!

One of the goals of this long weekend was to spend some time in the closet!! Alex is growing sooo fast, so it was time to clean out what doesn't fit anymore and wash all the new clothes that he is getting ready to wear. The PJ's he has on in these photos are 12 months!! They look so huge, but when you get them on him they seem to fit!! It's so hard to believe how big he is getting!! Not only did we spend some time in his closet, but Mommy and Daddy had a lot of their own laundry to put away. The only way to keep Alex entertained was to put him in a clothes basket. We drove him around in it for a fun little ride and then sat him in front of the mirror to entertain himself. This is the mirror that sent us to the ER once, so keeping him in the basket allowed us to keep some distance between him and the pesky mirror that brings him so much joy. He loves to talk and smile at himself in the mirror!! We also decided to join Alex in the mirror fun and take a family photo. Yeah, you can tell it's been a long weekend and we needed some entertainment!!

Lazy Day at Home!

It's Martin Luther King Jr. weekend and we had absolutely no plans, and we loved every second of laying around on the couch doing a whole bunch of nothing!! We watched some NFL playoff football and Alex supported the Bears even though they didn't have the best season!! Mommy and Daddy also spent several hours getting caught up on the HBO series Big Love. Bottom line we had a great weekend chillin with our super cute Bugga!!

Snoozing

Alex pretty much falls asleep while we're watching TV every night, and tonight was no different. He usually falls asleep on me and we cuddle. Tonight I laid him down while I did dishes etc. Daddy is gone to a football clinic tonight and I'm trying to get caught up on TV shows that Adam doesn't like to watch. It's still fairly early, but I think I'm not far behind what Alex is doing. Sleep tight!!

Also need to mention that Alex had to go to the Dr. on Tuesday because he unfortunately has another ear infection. Dr. Veronica gave us some numbing drops to use in hopes of avoiding an antibiotic. They seem to be working. This poor little boy can't seem to get a break! I think we're well on the road to getting tubes. I guess time will tell!! He's such a trooper!! This trooper now weighs 22 1/2 lbs!!!! What a growing boy!!!

Sleepover with my Cousins!

We had a spontaneous sleepover with Uncle Thomas, Aunt Amy, Gabbi, and Thomas. We always have a fun time. Thomas and Alex dug every toy out of the basket and enjoyed stealing each other's toys! Gabbi taught Alex how to pound it. We sang 'We Sing Silly Songs' a present from Nana and Papa for Christmas. I think I had just as much fun as the kids. I actually had asked for it, because I had it when I was little and loved to sing from it!! We made homemade pretzels and had homemade chicken noodle soup. It was a nice weekend!!

Everybody was sporting the Illini colors today, so why not take a picture?! Gramma and Grandpa Kershaw came over tonight and he had on an Illini sweatshirt too. We talked about taking a picture and then didn't. Next time!!
