Let's Celebrate

We celebrated the New Year in a pretty low key fashion this year.  Both kids went to the Dr this morning, as they've been snotty, coughing, and not 100%.  We were told it was just a virus, but they did give Alex a steroid to prevent his lungs from getting wheezy.

So, we spent the evening baking chocolate chip cookies and watching movies.  Mom and Dad were even in bed before midnight!  Yep, it's official we're not quite as cool and hip as we used to be!!

That's OK, because we've traded our late nights out for snuggles and laughter that we wouldn't trade for the world.  We've been truly blessed this year.  It's gone by extremely fast, and I'm excited to see what the next year brings for our family!!

Today we headed back to Nana and Papa's house so we could visit with Uncle Jordan and Babs. They spend Christmas in Ohio with Barb's family.  Instead of giving presents to the kids, they donated money to other needy children.  They made each of them a story book showing them how the donation made in their honor helped other children. It was really cool, and hope that we've planted a seed that giving back is so important.

We had a relaxing day just hanging out and visiting.  It's always nice when the aunts and uncles with no kids come around and entertain the little ones.  It's always a welcome break!!!

We've spent the last two days at home recooperating from all the Christmas excitement, but we were starting to go a little stir crazy.  So we headed to the mall, so the kids could play in the St. John's play area and we could see if there were any after Christmas sales that we just had to have. 

Office Hours

Today's Office Hours:  Available any time, but must be able to meet under the kitchen table!!  Believe it or not, they actually sat under there for almost 30 minutes.  I got a lot done in that amount of time, and so did Daddy!!

Moon and Back

 

The gift my family got me!!  It's really the only thing I really wanted!!!  I love my babies to the moon and back!!!  Amelia has even started saying 'moon and back!'

must come to an end.  And for Amelia she had too much Christmas excitement and finally passed out!  

We finally made it home, and then Grandma, Papa, and Uncle Tony came over to see what all Santa had brought.  They didn't stay long, because we had two very tired babies and two very tired parents and we were all ready for bed!!!  Merry Christmas everyone!!

After church I tried to get a few pictures of the family, per usual the kids weren't 100% cooperative but oh well!  We're capturing the moment.

Christmas Morning!!!

We opened presents around 7:00am, but had to wake both of our kids up.  As soon as I mentioned Santa to Alex, his first concern was whether or not he had ate the cookies we had put out for him.  Good news:  he had!!

Alex was over the moon to get his new Bullets helmet, coaches headsets, cowboy boots, a big semi-truck, a race car track, and lots of book.  He tore through his gifts in now time.  Amelia on the other hand, took a little while to wake up and get going.  Her gifts were wrapped in Elmo paper, and she was slightly disappointed when she opened gifts and there was no Elmo inside.  Luckily, the last gift she opened actually ELMO!! Yay!!!  She did get a new cheerleading outfit, sparkly boots, lots of new books (including I Love You Stinky Face), lot of new clothes, a broom/mop/bucket to help Mommy clean, and some new dress up jewelry!  The girl is stylin!!!

Nana and Papa got us all very nice gifts, including money to be able to finish the basement.  We're beyond blessed and above all thankful we were able to spend time together as a family!!!

After presents, we had breakfast and mimosas!! Then it was off to church to celebrate the birth of Jesus!!
