We traveled to Mt. Sterling, IL to help Daddy's cousin, Cody and new wife, Aby Lee, celebrate their wedding today. Alex was so happy to see Evalee and they had fun playing in the hotel before we had to get ready for the big event. They were married at a winery, so the wedding and reception were at the same place! It was a wonderful evening spent with family. Alex loved dancing, but only when there wasn't too many people on the dance floor. They were playing Michael Jackson and dancing in a big cirlce, so Alex and I joined in. People kept taking turns dancing in the middle of the cirlce and I could really tell Alex wanted to do it. He kept looking up at me and I kept telling him to do it. He'd take a step or two and then come back. He finally worked up enough nerve to get in the middle and bust a move! It was soooo cute. The bummer of the deal is I forgot to bring my camera, so all the picures you are seeing are compliments of Aunt Ashley and Aunt Sara!! Thanks for saving me ladies!!!

You won't see me smiling at 8 am too many times in my life,

but it was my last day on the beach and I was soaking up the sun!!

Mommy & Daddy headed to Cancun, Mexico for a 4 day, 3 night get away at the Dreams Resort. Alex spent the first few days with Grandma & Grandpa Kershaw and the last few days with Nana & Papa, well actually Nana, Papa was busy with a church retreat and work. He even spent a day playing with Gabbi & Thomas. He did great while we were gone, but I think he's glad to be back home and playing with Briggs!!! Mommy had a small melt down when we left him, but I made it through. We missed him terrible, but very much enjoyed our adult time!!

We're glad to be home, but WOW what a wonderful time we had. We kicked off our trip Friday night with dinner at our favorite restaurant on The Hill, Cunetto's. We were up early on Saturday to catch our 6:30 flight. We had a connecting flight in Atlanta and were in Mexico by Noon. When we got to our resort we found out they had overbooked and asked us if we would be willing to stay next door at the Hyatt Regency. We could still come and take advantage of all the all-inclusive meals, drinks, activities, and pool, but we just had to sleep and shower at the Hyatt. We said OK, because in return for our 'inconvenience' we would be compensated with a 7 day, 6 night free stay at another time within the next year. Adam talked them into extended it until next April so we can go over his Spring Break. So it made it a lot easier to leave knowing next year we'll be headed back. We're even going to take the kids next time as the resort was very kid friendly.

We pretty much spent our time laying on the beach, enjoying the sand and surf and the 82 degree weather!!! Daddy enjoyed a few cocktails and Mommy enjoyed a few alcohol free daiquiris and frozen lemonades and we ate lots of good food. They had dolphins at the resort so we enjoyed watching them put on a show, and at night there was always good music and entertainment. One night they had people perform a fire show that was really cool. I didn't have my camera for that though. We ended our last day with a couples massage, while listening to the sounds of the ocean. It was Daddy's first massage and he liked it a lot!!! The baby seemed to really like the massage too, as it was moving around like crazy!!! It was a great way to end our trip and celebrate making it to the 6 month mark of this pregnancy before our long 12 hours worth of travel to get home.

We were brought back to reality today as we headed home from Nana's when we had to pull over to change a flat tire on my car in the cold cold weather!!! This is the second flat tire in two weeks for my car!! I'll be spending my lunch hour tomorrow getting two new tires put on!! We just need this car to hold on about 6 more months, but we're a little worried that may not happen!!!

All in all we enjoyed ourselves greatly and it sound like Alex did too. We're so thankful to have had the chance to get away and to have parents that were willing to watch Alex!! We're ready for spring and this baby to come (only 110 days left!!!!)

Happy Valentine's Day

Alex wasn't cooperating with the photo ops this evening for his Valentine's shirt, but let's remember life isn't always full of smiles and laughter!! He is our Handsome Dude regardless!! We got Alex a little Buzz Lightyear for a gift. He wasn't interested in it in the beginning because he spotted his pajamas laying on the bed and he's like his Momma and loves to be comfy!!! Eventually he came around and had a great time playing with his balloon and Buzz!! Of course we ended the night like we always do. . . watching one of the Toy Story movies with his entourage of 'babies'!!!

Daddy said the balloon came with the Stargazer Lilies he got me. He wasn't supposed to get me anything because we are headed out to Cancun in a few days for some much needed Mommy and Daddy time!!

This weekend we headed to Roodhouse to celebrate Papa's birthday. Great Grandma Meehan came to help us celebrate too. We had a great meal, and cake and ice cream of course! The little boys enjoyed helping Papa open his gifts. Nana got him a John Grisham book like she does every year for his birthday because a new one comes out every year right around his birthday.

Papa has been having a rough time with his shoulder since surgery. They had him put his sling back on last week to remind him not to use his arm so much. He's had so many different techs at physical therapy and they all have been giving him different exercises to do, and come to find out he's been doing too much which is slowing down his progress.

Alex enjoyed playing with the kitties and it was so nice on Sunday that he even enjoyed playing outside for a while in the melting snow! We took Briggs too, and he had a great time playing with the other dogs and running around like a wild man!! We're all ready for spring!!

Happy Birthday Papa!! We Love You!!

Alex also celebrated Papa's birthday on Friday by getting in his first little fist fight at daycare. He came home with a scratch on his face, but he didn't cry during the brawl! What are we going to do with you kid!?!?!
