FREE vacation!!! Let's forget we'll have to buy airfare

and passports for the wee ones!!!

You won't see me smiling at 8 am too many times in my life,

but it was my last day on the beach and I was soaking up the sun!!

Mommy & Daddy headed to Cancun, Mexico for a 4 day, 3 night get away at the Dreams Resort. Alex spent the first few days with Grandma & Grandpa Kershaw and the last few days with Nana & Papa, well actually Nana, Papa was busy with a church retreat and work. He even spent a day playing with Gabbi & Thomas. He did great while we were gone, but I think he's glad to be back home and playing with Briggs!!! Mommy had a small melt down when we left him, but I made it through. We missed him terrible, but very much enjoyed our adult time!!

We're glad to be home, but WOW what a wonderful time we had. We kicked off our trip Friday night with dinner at our favorite restaurant on The Hill, Cunetto's. We were up early on Saturday to catch our 6:30 flight. We had a connecting flight in Atlanta and were in Mexico by Noon. When we got to our resort we found out they had overbooked and asked us if we would be willing to stay next door at the Hyatt Regency. We could still come and take advantage of all the all-inclusive meals, drinks, activities, and pool, but we just had to sleep and shower at the Hyatt. We said OK, because in return for our 'inconvenience' we would be compensated with a 7 day, 6 night free stay at another time within the next year. Adam talked them into extended it until next April so we can go over his Spring Break. So it made it a lot easier to leave knowing next year we'll be headed back. We're even going to take the kids next time as the resort was very kid friendly.

We pretty much spent our time laying on the beach, enjoying the sand and surf and the 82 degree weather!!! Daddy enjoyed a few cocktails and Mommy enjoyed a few alcohol free daiquiris and frozen lemonades and we ate lots of good food. They had dolphins at the resort so we enjoyed watching them put on a show, and at night there was always good music and entertainment. One night they had people perform a fire show that was really cool. I didn't have my camera for that though. We ended our last day with a couples massage, while listening to the sounds of the ocean. It was Daddy's first massage and he liked it a lot!!! The baby seemed to really like the massage too, as it was moving around like crazy!!! It was a great way to end our trip and celebrate making it to the 6 month mark of this pregnancy before our long 12 hours worth of travel to get home.

We were brought back to reality today as we headed home from Nana's when we had to pull over to change a flat tire on my car in the cold cold weather!!! This is the second flat tire in two weeks for my car!! I'll be spending my lunch hour tomorrow getting two new tires put on!! We just need this car to hold on about 6 more months, but we're a little worried that may not happen!!!

All in all we enjoyed ourselves greatly and it sound like Alex did too. We're so thankful to have had the chance to get away and to have parents that were willing to watch Alex!! We're ready for spring and this baby to come (only 110 days left!!!!)

Putt Putt Golf!!

How can you go on vacation and not putt putt golf?!?!?!?! It was so incredibly hot out, but we had lot of fun. Papa stayed back at the condo with Thomas because we didn't think he would cooperate to well. Alex enjoyed strolling along the course with us. I wish we would have had a video camera at the time I took a giant spill down a hill on one of the holes. It might have been the funniest thing I've ever done. I skinned up both my knees and hurt my ankle, but really it was my pride that was damaged the most!! Seriously, ever time I think about it I start laughing. It's sure a memory we'll have for quite a while! Everybody had a hole in one at some point except me. Bummer!! Uncle Jordan won putt-putt, but he was also keeping score so you can decide whether or not he really won!! After golfing a race on the go cart track was in order!! I don't have any pictures of myself because the camera started acting up again before someone could take a picture of me, but I'm quickly learning that mommies aren't in most of the pictures.

This week Alex has started pulling up on everything he can get his hands on and is cruising the furniture. It's amazing how he just decided one day to start doing it all. Today he even took a few wobbly steps from Papa to me all by himself !! He was just trying to run away from Papa, but whatever works!! It's only a matter of time and we'll have a little boy that's running everywhere!!

It amazes me how fast a week of vacation goes by, but sometimes the weeks at work just drag on. We feel blessed to have spent quality time with our family!! We're very glad to be home and sleeping on our own beds!! And I know Briggs is glad we're home too! He didn't eat much while we were gone and looks like he's lost some weight. He's gotten lots of love tonight!! I think he forgives us.

We're sending our camera off tomorrow to hopefully be fixed, so we'll be on a picture hiatus for a few weeks!

Fun on the Lake!

We boated and tubed on Tuesday and had a great time with several captains driving us around! We were lucky enough to have a boat rental place right next to our condo. On Wednesday we rented two jet skis and that was tons of fun! Uncle Thomas took Thomas David out on the jet ski and the little man fell asleep! The rest of us had a great time trying to see how fast we could get the jet skis to go. Gabbi said it was her favorite part of the trip! I don't have any pictures because my camera started acting up!!

After jet skis the ladies headed to the outlet mall and spent several hours and several dollars there!! It goes without saying that we had a great time. We really did shop until we dropped!!

Swim Party!!

On Monday the Meehan's arrived in Lake of the Ozarks. We spent the entire afternoon in the pool! A good place to be considering the heat index was around 105 degrees!! Uncle Thomas and Uncle Jordan didn't make it down on Monday because they both had to work, but they came down early on Tuesday morning.

More Boating Adventures!

Sunday morning before we left we took the boat out one more time. Mommy and Daddy rode together and Daddy got to ride by himself and Mommy and Camilla rode together. We had so much fun, but boy were our bodies sore the next day!! Alex didn't like it when Mommy and Daddy rode together, and really got upset when we fell off the tube!!

After tubing we headed back to the condo to pack up and clean up. We said good-bye to everybody and headed to the other side of the lake to start our family vacation with the Meehan clan!!
