A New Push Toy

Alex has discovered that now that he can walk that he can push lots of things around. He loves to push his Buzz Lightyear toy around instead of riding it now. Tonight he discovered that the bar stools are a great 'toy' to push all around the kitchen!! He was pretty proud of his discovery!! He's not a very good driver and would get mad when he would run into the wall. This is not a game that we will be encouraging him to continue!

Bullets Win!!!

Last night the Bullets kicked of their season opener against the Gillespie Miner's (Nana's alma mater) with a 26-16 win!! The weather was beautiful, but we know that by the end of the season will be shivering in our boots!! Alex played in the rocks and hung out with Grandma & Grandpa Kershaw for a little while too. He insisted on being held for a big part of the game, by only Mommy of course. He was so tired considering he goes to bed at 8:00 every night, but there was no chance he was going to go to sleep and miss a minute of the action! The good thing is he slept in until 10:00 this morning. It was even better considering Mommy & Daddy were up until almost 2:00 am with the coaches and their wives. As they all say, the best part of the football week is the 3 hours (even though it's usually more like 5 or 6) after the game!!!

On the Road Again

It's a road we've traveled once before, it was a long and windy road but the journey to parenthood was well worth it. Today we began the journey again with Dr. Galle. The long and short of it is, we are picking up right where we left off the last time. In the next few weeks I'll begin giving myself shots and visiting Dr. Galle regularly to see how things are progressing and then we'll proceed with insemination as we did previously. Dr. Galle wants me to lose a little weight (about 8-10lbs) and he increased my Metformin for insulin resistance. So, now Mommy & Daddy have some working out to do!!! This is one part of the process that Adam can partake in!!!

Walking in to the office today was kind of surreal. It seemed like we had just been there, even though it's been nearly two years since we found out we were pregnant the first time! Everybody remembered us, and of course they were anxious to see pictures of Alex and we were more than happy to share our beautiful baby boy with them. One nurse came out and said "Hello Amelia, but call me Molly." She said she saw my name the day before and was so excited we were coming back!! We really can't stress enough how blessed we have been with Dr. Galle's office. They truly are amazing people and do great work!!

So, little brother or sister to Alex, today we official begin working to bring you into the world! We can't wait to meet you!!!

Tractor Time

One night in July, Papa had a Rural Electric conference at the Crowne Plaza, and we stopped by for a little visit. It's an annual meeting and they always have a silent auction. Mommy & Nana love to walk around and see what's for sale. This year Alex had his eye on one of the prizes. He would have loved to have won this tractor, but it didn't happen. Oh well, he enjoyed driving it for a few minutes anyway.

I didn't have my camera and a nice lady stopped and took his picture and she just sent them to me so now I'm sharing them with you! Enjoy!

Look Who's Walking Now!!

Yesterday out of the blue Alex decided to stand up in the middle of the room with no help and take about 7 steps! He's done it several times since then too!! I knew it was all a matter of him deciding to do it and it seems as if he's decided it's time! He still prefers scooting as you can see from the video but that's OK!! One step at a time!! YAY Alex!!!!

Cousin Sleepover

Uncle Thomas & Aunt Amy headed to Chicago on Saturday for a wedding, so Gabbi & Thomas stayed at our house. The kids had a good time playing together and were very good. Of course, both boys wanted each other's toys several times but that's to be expected at this age! We wrapped up the night by watching some cartoons on the internet. Alex has recently become obsessed with watching things on the laptop. Thomas is obsessed with Elmo so we watched some Elmo too! It's hard to believe these boys are 6 months apart by there size! Alex is the same size as Thomas, and weighs more too!!

Once we got the boys to bed I surprised Gabbi with a trip to the drive in to see Beezus & Ramona. She had already seen it once, but wanted to see it again. Plus she's been asking for me to take her to the drive in for a few years now and it's never worked out. The movie was good and the night was beautiful. A great way to end a crazy day with 3 kids!!

Better Late than Never!!

Aaron, Liz, & Seth came over the other night for dinner. We're getting ready to kick off another football season and everybody is going back to school. Liz already started her 3rd year of pharmacy school on Monday, and all 3 boys start school this weekend. Adam and Aaron will again be in high school and Seth is starting Kindergarten!!!

Anyway, the whole point of my post is that the Kunz's in true Kunz fashion finally got around to bring Alex's birthday present over!! Alex absolutely loves it!! He wasted no time figuring out how to push the button that makes all the balls go popping everywhere!! Seth had this toy when he was little and he still seemed to enjoy it!! I don't enjoy the fact that there is no volume on it so it's really loud and the balls seem to always go under the couch!!!

Happy 80th Birthday Great Grandma Furness!!!

Sunday we headed to Virden to celebrate Great Grandma Furness's 80th Birthday! We should also mention that Grandpa Kershaw also had his birthday on Saturday, so there was lots to celebrate this weekend!! All the family got together and we got our pictures taken too. I didn't take many, and will post more when I receive the official ones. I've stole some pictures from Aunt Sara for the blog!! (Thanks Aunt Sara.) We had a nice lunch and good dessert, and great family time!!! What a blessing to have a healthy and happy family!!

When we got home I took my contacts out (a new pair) and for the second time in a year ripped my cornea!! It's seriously some of the worse pain ever!! I laid in bed with my eyes closed from 7 pm until 10am. Adam came home from football practice to take me the the doctor. They said it was torn and by tomorrow it should be mostly healed. They gave me some drops that helps numb it some, but it also dilates my eye so I've been wearing a patch today!! A very nice look!!

Today was Alex's first full day in the toddler room and they said he did a great job!!! He's been standing up on his own quite a bit, but as soon as he figures out he's doing it he sits down. They said today he stood up on his own about 8 times, so we're on the cusp of walking. It's all up to Alex to take the first step (pun intended!!!) Today Daddy also had a first. . . he donated blood with Mommy today!!! I'm so proud of both of my boys!!!!

Let's Read

Uncle Trevor and Aunt Ashley spent the night on Saturday night. Uncle Trevor read Alex books before he went to bed, and of course they had to read Star Wars!!!!

Earlier on Saturday Mommy and Alex went to Target and Panera Bread with Uncle Thomas, Aunt Amy, Gabbi, and Thomas. Then they came over and hung out for a while and then we went to church. It was nice hanging out with them, since Daddy was gone to the Cardinals/Cubs game in St. Louis!! We also had dinner with Liz & Seth at Cancun in Sherman. When we walked in we ran into Aunt Angie so we ate with her too!! It was a nice little surprise!!

Say What???

Last week Alex put two words together . . . I picked him up from daycare and we came home and Adam went to get him out of the car and he said, " Hi Dad!" A proud moment for us!!

Alex is saying several words now. . . Dad, Mom, dog, kitty, milk (his own form of it--sounds more like nyah), bubbles, hi, bye, Nana, Papa, boo, go go go, and get'em get'em get'em. He also signs please, milk, more, and eat. So all in all he's doing pretty good for himself.

He could also walk if he wanted to, but he is being stubborn and throws himself down when you try to help him walk. Just like everything else he'll do it when he's good and ready. Wondering if once he moves to the toddler room full time if that won't motivate him to get up and get moving!!

It's So Hot Outside

but that doesn't stop Alex from wanting to go outside and play everyday!!! He requests to play with bubbles. Yes, he actually says bubbles!! He loves to watch the cars go by and wave at them too!! It's just been so miserably hot out with heat indices in between 105 and 110 degrees.

We've been laying low the last few weeks. Just trying to enjoy a little family time together because Daddy officially starts football practice at 6:30 tomorrow morning!!! It's going to be a hot one folks!! Alex is spending his last week in the infant room at daycare. Next week he officially moves to the toddler room. He's been going and visiting everyday after nap time until we come and pick him up. I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast !! Time is flying!!

Breakfast Visit

Uncle Jordan and Babs came home last weekend for a wedding, so we got together on Saturday morning to have breakfast and a little visit. Nana had quite the spread for us. . . waffles, biscuits & gravy, bacon and lots of fresh fruit. It was delicious!! Alex even let Barbara get some good cuddle time in!! She was pretty excited!! It was hard trying to snap a good picture of them both though!! Uncle Jordan was letting Gabbi know she's still his baby too!!

We also took the opportunity to shop at Nana & Papa's store because we hadn't been grocery shopping in a very long time!! We're stocked up now!!
