Meehan Family Easter

We went to Rockbridge to Great Uncle Mike and Great Aunt Crystal's house to celebrate Easter.  The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the company was great.  A perfect day, until Amelia locked the keys in the truck and Daddy had to spend a good part of the day in the car to get the extra keys.  Luckily, the Kunz's were headed to New Berlin so they went to the house got the extra set of keys and Adam picked the keys in New Berlin.  In the meantime I had to head to town to get diapers and wipes because Amelia had pooped and the diaper bag was a you guessed. . .in the locked truck!!!  Oh, first world problems. 

Relaxing

Since mass was so early, we had a little time to relax before we headed to the Meehan Family Easter.

Easter Baskets

Mass was bright and early at 8:30 so in order to get everybody up, fed, dressed, and to church in a timely manner the kids had to wait until after church to dive into their Easter baskets.  They were all extremely happy with the ridiculous amount of loot the bunny left for them!

Easter Egg Hunt

Alex was mad because we were telling him to get a  Kleenex to wipe his nose.
This was really a clue so that he could get another egg.
It ended up with crying and drama.

Of course, there was more than one crying kid.
You know Easter egg hunting is pretty stressful!

After dinner Thomas, Alex, and Amelia enjoyed a little Easter egg hunt.  They wasted no time opening up the eggs and sampling all the candy!!

Fried Chicken

Somehow, Adam did the honors of offering Barb her first piece of chicken

Miss Barbara has NEVER had homemade fried chicken before.  She says she didn't know people actually fried it at home.  Needless to say, the Meehan family was appauled!  Jordan chose to have fried chicken and mashed potatoes for an early birthday dinner!  Barbara said it was worth waiting 26 years to enjoy her first taste of homemade fried chicken!!!

Perception

Uncle Jordan is currently going to school to get his Masters in Education.  He wants to teach elementary school.  He's been learning about how children's perception of things change as they get older.  He put the same amount of water into two glasses and asked Thomas and Alex which one had more water in it (but they both had the same).  Then he poured one of the glasses into a different shaped glass and again asked them which one had more water (even though they were both still the same).  Jordan also did a similar experiment with coins.  It's interesting to see how the boys minds work.
