Another Busy Day during Christmas Break

Today we spent the day at home. The Surratt's came over for a visit and to see the new house. Nana and Papa came over for a visit too. They came to Springfield to see a movie. Mommy and Daddy had plans to go to Sebastian's for dinner, so we invited them to come with us!! Alex was extremely well behaved at dinner. He even ate some mashed potatoes and risotto. Hopefully we're not teaching him to have expensive taste in restaurants!! We're now settled in at home in our jammies enjoying a quiet evening. Tomorrow Alex is going to daycare and Mommy and Daddy are going to enjoy a quiet afternoon at the movies. We haven't been since Alex was about 2 weeks old. We're pretty excited to have a few hours to ourself!!

The Stitches are Out!

Here's a picture of Alex's finger before we went to the Dr yesterday to get his stitches out. Two had fallen out on their own, and one was hanging by a thread (no pun intended!!) So really there was only two that had to be taken out. Of course, Alex screamed and cried but it really didn't hurt him. The nurse saved the 3 remaining stitches for us to put in Alex's baby book. We need to keep it bandaged up for a few more days and then we should be good to go!! While we were there we went ahead and got a flu shot too!! Hear's hoping 2010 is a healthy one!!

Worn Out

After four days of Christmas fun, we were all just worn out! Alex woke up early on Monday, but ended up falling asleep soon after with Daddy on the couch. This is what I walked out to when I finally rolled out of bed. Later on that afternoon I fell asleep with Alex while Daddy was in the shower. He found it only fair to take a picture of us too.

Two days after Christmas, we had our fourth and final Christmas at Grandma Furness' house in Hillsboro. We had a very nice time visiting with the family, but by the end of the evening, Alex decided that four straight days of Christmas was too much, and he hit the wall. After a couple of hours of crabbiness and crying, Mommy decided we'd better head home and bring an end to the Christmas 2009 festivities. Alex got more great gifts at Great-Grandma Furness' including a few books, an automatic bubble maker for the bathtub, a fun vibrating elephant, and a few outfits. All-in-all, we had a very merry Christmas season.

More Presents!!

Alex had a great Christmas on the Kershaw side too!! We celebrated the day after Christmas, so it was nice not to have to run from one family event to another. Alex made out like a bandit!! Gramma and Grandpa spoiled Alex like crazy! He ended up with blocks, lots of books, trucks, a cookie jar block game, a pair of boots, a few cute outfits, and a savings bond. Not too bad for a first Christmas!!

In the midst of all of the Christmas fun, we also made quite a discovery. Alex is getting his first tooth! He has one tooth poking through his the front of his bottom gums. Only 19 more to go!

Santa Came to Visit!!

Alex has been a very good boy the first 6 1/2 months of his life, and lucky for him Santa came and visited. We headed to Nana and Papa's house on Christmas Eve and spent the night, so Santa stopped there. He's used to coming there, because Gabbi and Thomas get their presents there too!! Santa brought Alex and Thomas Radio Flyer Rockets. Alex also got books and a toy that spins balls from Santa. All in all I think Alex enjoyed his first Christmas. morning
