Wrestling with Cousins

Gabbi, Thomas, & Alex had fun wrestling on our bed. Gabbi's hair is in braids in preparation of her Halloween costume. She was Hermine from Harry Potter and her brother was a clown!!

Happy Halloween!!!

Today was a busy day!! Nana & Papa, Aunt Amy, Uncle Thomas, Gabbi, & Thomas came over . They brought lots of meals for us and cleaned house, did laundry, and got leaves and sticks picked up in the yard!! They were tons of help and we can't say enough how much we appreciate them. I went back to work for half days on Thursday and Friday, but am still not feeling 100%. I go to the Dr. again in the morning and I have a feeling he may have me back on bed rest. It's a slow road to recovery, but that's OK!! It'll all be worth it!!

We didn't do much Trick or Treating. We went to Sherman to get Alex' picture taken like we did last year, and then walked across the street to the neighbor's house and to the church. Alex seemed a little confused by the whole expereince, but at the same time was intrigued by all the goodies in his bucket. I think he enjoyed people knocking on the door and handing out candy more than anything!!! The little man is tuckered out after a busy day of playing with cousins and Halloween festivities!!! Unfortunately this year we never got around to carving pumpkins. Kind of bummed, but Daddy surprised Mommy the other day by putting all her Halloween decorations up while she was at work!! He's a great husband!!! I love him lots!!!

Playoffs Baby!!!

Saturday was the first round of the football playoffs for the Bullets!! It was a fairly nice day, but a tad windy!! We were able to pull off a pretty handy victory against the Beardstown Tigers by a score of 30-11. We head to Auburn next Saturday!! It's going to be a good one folks!!! GO BULLETS!!

Morning Play Time

Last week Nana dropped Alex off at daycare and took the camera too!! Miss Kristy wanted to take some pictures to brighten my day since I'm just at home laying around all day!!! It's fun to see what Alex does and how he interacts with other children when Mommy & Daddy aren't around. As I've said before, we are so happy with the way Alex is taken care of at Just Kids!! We feel so lucky to have people watch him everyday that love him just like he was their own!!!

Playing on the Porch

So Mommy's been feeling pretty rough the last few weeks. We've had lots of people volunteer to help and it's made things a lot easier. Usually I only had to be home with Alex about an hour by myself each night. We spent most of that hour playing outside on the porch. Alex loves to be outside and it entertained him enough that I was able to just sit in the chair. The boy is quite a ham in front of the camera, and he even said 'cheese' in one of the pictures for me!! What a doll!!!

7 Weeks Pregnant!!

Today Mommy and Daddy headed to see Dr. Galle for our weekly visit. We were so excited when we got to hear the heart beat for the very first time!!!! It was going strong at 141 beats per minute!! The baby measured .95 cm. Can you believe something so small can have such a strong little heartbeat?!? AMAZING!!! Dr. Galle said things are looking great. My ovaries are still huge and I'm still on restricted activies. I plan to go to work on Thursday and Friday for half the day. Hopefully that will go OK. I'm a little nervous since it's been almost 3 weeks since I've been up and doing anything!

Bottom line, this little one is growing just like it should, even if Mommy is having a tough time!!

Last Week of Football

Tonight was Daddy's last JV football game, and Friday is the last regular season game. We're lucky enough to have a winning record, so we'll see this weekend when and where we play our game next week. Tonight Grandma & Grandpa Kershaw came and picked Alex up to take him out to dinner and then to the football game. Alex has really been loving on Daddy lately and giving him such big squeezes, unfortunately he won't give the same love to Mommy!! Boo!

6 Weeks Pregnant

Today I went to see Dr. Galle after last weeks stay in the hospital. I've had a pretty rough weekend. The pain has diminished, but I think I may have the flu now. It's been one heck of a week!!! On a good note, we were able to see the heartbeat of the baby today!!!! Dr. Galle says at just 6 weeks this is very good and everything looks good! My ovaries are still huge, but he doesn't anticipate that diminishing for the next several weeks. They have moved positions, which is more than likely why the pain has subsided. He told me I have to continue on bed rest until my next visit, which isn't until next Monday! It's rough laying around all day, but as Adam says "It's for the baby!!" It's also rough trying to find something that sounds good to eat. Like when I was pregnant with Alex one of the few things I like to eat is egg noodles with butter and parmesan cheese. Since beginning our visits to Dr. Galle's office I have lost 4 pounds.

Adam and Alex have both been great troopers through this whole ordeal. Adam is trying to do everything while I lay around the couch, and Alex doesn't understand that Mommy isn't a human jungle gym! He really struggled while I was gone last week. On Friday night it took over a half hour for him to completely go to sleep. He just kept popping his head up to make sure that I was still there. And on top of it all, he ended up having to go to the Dr. to get medicine for pink eye!!! He's struggling with a little cough and runny nose, but it's just that time of year!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Daddy's birthday wasn't quite what we expected it to be at all!! Mommy ended up in the hospital yesterday because of the fertility medicine she has been on. It has overstimulated my ovaries (to almost 3 times the normal size) and is causing severe pain. They have me in the hospital primarily for observation, but to help me deal with the pain as well. I'm feeling a million times better today than I did yesterday, and we're hoping I'll get to go home tomorrow.

A big thanks to Nana for coming and cleaning the house and getting all the laundry done and cooking several meals for us!!! And making Daddy a cheesecake for his birthday!!! You Rock!!

Also thanks to everyone who has called, texted, visited, and prayed for me!!! We really appreciate your thoughtfulness!!

It's a Zoo Around Here!!

Well, not really but we do have a few cute little critters around here for Halloween!! And of course every monkey has to do a little yard work!!! The kid loves to drive!!!
