Amelia thought Aunt Ashley needed some spa treatment time.

Today we headed up to meet our newest family member, Miss Aria Skylar.  Needless to say, we were all sooo excited to meet her and she didn't get much time to herself as we all took turns passing her around!  We tried to get the kids to calm down to take a nap, but the only ones willing were the adults!  Go figure!

Aunt Ashley and Uncle Trevor seem to be getting this parenting thing just fine!  Not that we doubted them, but we all know that first week is a hard one!

Kicking Off the Football Season

Tonight the Bullets officially kicked of the football season!!  It was beyond hot out.  There wasn't a dry hair on Amelia's head at the end of the night.  There was no sweating in this game as far as excitement.  We handily beat Sangamon Valley by a score of 46-6. 

Alex is asking a lot more questions this year about football, but still enjoys running around and playing in the dirt.  The kids really enjoyed having Grandma and Papa in the stands, which allowed Mommy to actually get to watch some of the game!  It's going to be a great season Bullets fans!!!

Diggers

This morning we woke up to the Williamsville road crew out digging up our road.  This spring the sewer collapsed and the roads were dug up for repairs.  We've essentially had a gravel road all summer long.  It's been rather annoying and really dirtied up our front porch.  I don't know who was more excited this morning: the kids because of all the heavy machinery or the parents because we finally are going to have a smooth road and a clean porch!!!

Alex was really worried we weren't going to be able to get out of the drive way and told me that we should just have a stay home day today.  I would love to have stayed home so he could have watched them work all day, but unfortunately Momma's got work to do!!

Feeling Hot Hot Hot

The heat index has been well into the 100's this week and the kids wanted Mommy to push them to the library.  Oh, the things we do for our babies.  I got a small bit of exercise in, a lot of sweating, and the kids got new books to read.  I'd call that a good night!  Daddy has had football practice late each night this week, as they've been trying to wait until the hot heat of the afternoon has passed.  Getting used to the football schedule has been a little tough on us!

Happy BIRTHDAY Aria Skylar!!!

Uncle Trevor and Aunt Ashley welcomed the 5th Kershaw cousin into the world today!  Miss Aria Skylar Kershaw was born weighing 6lbs 13oz and 21" long.  Everyone is doing well.  The bad news is we have to wait until Saturday before we get to meet her!!! 

I told Alex last night that Aunt Ashley was going to have her baby soon.  He told me it would be on Monday.  I relayed this information to Uncle Trevor and Aunt Ashley and I was more than surprised when I got a phone call from Uncle Trevor telling us they were headed to the hospital!

I am excited that Aunt Sara and Uncle Travis Skyped with Aria and sang Happy Birthday to her on her actual birth-day, as this is a Kershaw family tradition.  Her 'cake' was a Snickers bar that I'm hoping Ashley got to eat since she was the one that did most of the work today!!  Adam and I did Skype later in the evening after the kids went to bed but I didn't even think about singing to her!

Alex and Amelia were excited to hear they had a new cousin, but of course they wanted to see her right away.  When we told them her name, Alex said he was going to call her 'Aria Luke Skywalker'--appropriate since the Kershaw's love their Star Wars!!    Amelia I think was more than a little confused, as there is a girl at daycare named Aria and she kept asking if Aria was her cousin.  Yes, she is but not the girl you are thinking of.  It's amazing how their little minds work.

Welcome to our family Aria we are blessed that you are now a part of our life!!!  As we welcome a new baby, I feel like I'm losing mine.  Today she moved up into the 2's and 3's classroom at daycare.  We need a pause button!!!

Update:  The kids Skyped the following day with Uncle Trevor and Aria.  They sang Happy Birthday to Aria.  It was adorable!!  I think it's going to be a fight on who gets to hold this little bundle first!

Let's Go Swimming Now!

Today we took the kids to Aunt Amy and Uncle Thomas' house so they could see the new place and of course try out the new pool!!!  We met them at mass and then had lunch.  It didn't take long for the kids to be ready to jump into the pool.  It was a fun time.  So much fun that I didn't take many pictures and just laid in the pool relaxing!!  I could get used to this kind of life!!

Hot Air Balloons

The Lincoln Hot Air Balloon Festival was also going on this weekend.  The kids were pretty beat from a few days with Grandma, football, and a birthday party so we just drove to Lincoln and pulled over and watched the balloons float for a little while.  The kids really enjoyed using Daddy as a jungle gym.  Next year we'd like to go to the actual festival and get a little closer to them.  We have another big day tomorrow so we are headed home for showers and bedtime!!!

Ryan's Birthday Party

 

 

 

This afternoon Alex and Mommy headed over to his friend Ryan's house to help him celebrate his 4th birthday.  Daddy and Amelia were still sleeping so they joined us later.  The kids had a blast jumping in the bounce house, driving cars, playing in the playhouse, and all sorts of fun things.  It was nice to meet a few of the parents of Alex's friends from daycare.
