Trimming the Tree

 

 

 

Today we decorated our carefully chosen Christmas tree.  She's pretty much perfect.  As usual, the kids were excited for the first few ornaments and then it wasn't so much fun anymore. 

Festival of Trees

 

 

One of my favorite traditions to kicking off the Christmas season is the Festival of Trees.  We met Grandma and Papa for dinner at Fulgenzi's and then went to the fairgrounds to partake in viewing all the beautiful trees.  Daddy and Papa immediately got in line to secure our spot to visit with Santa.  Alex and Amelia were super excited to talk with Santa, but Ada wasn't so much into the holiday spirit.  Of course, we had to ride the train and snack on gingerbread cookies.  Ada did a great job of not touching the trees, and kept getting squatting down to look at the trees.  It really cracked us up.  We loved seeing the Star Wars, Frozen, Superhero, and Wizard of Oz trees the best.  As always, we had a great time.  It's official the holiday season!!  (We also went and picked out our tree today too!!)

It's the Holiday Season

I've taught my kids we only celebrate one holiday at a time.  They've seen other people getting their Christmas decorations out and have been anxious to do the same.  Now that Thanksgiving is over we can officially begin to decorate for Christmas.  Daddy spent all morning hanging lights up outside in the cold and the rain.  He sure is a swell guy.  We decorated a small tree, but we still need to go pick out our real Christmas tree.  That will happen soon.

This afternoon we went to see Jacksonville and met Papa and the Jax Meehan's to watch The Good Dinosaur at the movie theatre.  Ada did pretty well for the first 3/4 of the movie, but then we had to walk around a bit.  She was enjoying eating the popcorn off the floor a little too much!!!  We then ordered pizza at Thomas' house, where Nana was able to join us.  She was working at the flower shop today.  We had a fun filled day!

Thanksgiving

 

 

The kids spent the morning playing out on the deck.  It's such a pretty day today.  Ada enjoyed dancing to all the music as we watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.  This afternoon we headed to Bunker Hill to Uncle Pat and Aunt Glenda's house to have dinner with the Meehan's.  The kids again enjoyed playing outside, while the adults hung out in the garage visiting and drinking adult beverages.  So blessed to hang out with my family!
