Today Daddy made us Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Pancakes, as Alex called them.  Alex was super excited!!  The kid loves his pancakes, especially the blueberry-banana ones Daddy makes from scratch!!  They are awesome!!  Thanks Daddy!!

We had to have a good breakfast to power us through a tough day of pretty much doing nothing but watching the Olympics.  We've watched Archery, Volleyball, Fencing, Gymnastics, Swimming, Beach Volleyball, and a quick minute of Badminton and Table Tennis.  It's been a pretty rough day let me tell you!!  I did manage to vacuum and do laundry though!!!  Go Team USA!!!

PS  Can you believe Amelia is 14 months old today?  She just keeps growing and changing!!

Playing Around

Tonight the kids had fun running around and playing, and really kind of driving me crazy.  I just wanted a quiet night so I could watch the Opening Ceremony of the XXX Olympic Games in London.  I love watching the games.  I have no idea why, but it fascinates me.  I will be glued to the television for the next 15 days!!  Love it!!

Tonight Daddy gave Briggs a bath and let him come inside.  Amelia was over the moon with excitement.  Mommy not so much, when Briggs went back outside and left half of his fur coat lying on the floor.  Daddy was quick to clean it up though!!!

Learning Chores

Alex has really enjoyed helping us lately, so we've been taking advantage of it and giving him chores to do.  He's really good at helping unload the dishwasher.  He always goes into our bedroom and gets any water glasses that are on Daddy's bedside table.  Tonight we added a new chore, go get all the trash cans because the trash man is coming tomorrow.  He loved it, and Amelia thought she was a big help too!!

6 Flags

 

 

 

 I took my camera to 6 Flags, but never got it out.  There just seemed to be too much going on.  We hit the ground running.  We were there when the park opened and immediately started riding rides.  Well, that's not true we got our unlimited refill cups first (we got our monies worth that's for sure!!!).  Again, today was 107 degrees, so their weren't alot of people there.  The lines were short and we jumped from one ride to the next.  We spent about 3 hours riding rides, then got lunch and then headed over to the water park side.  Nana and I stayed with the little kids while everyone else headed off to ride more roller coasters (yuck!) the lines were so minimal sometimes they didn't even have to get off the ride!!  We even managed to buy Halloween costumes while we were there!  We won't spoil the surprise just yet though!! 

Alex really wasn't feeling super great, so we found some shade, and both the kids napped on me for about an hour.  Talk about the hottest, longest hour of my life!!!  After naps we played in the water a bit more and then rode the train, went to Looney Tunes Town and then packed up to go home.  We made a quick stop at the gift shop, and Alex loved seeing Scooby-Doo, of course it was also his favorite ride of the day!  Amelia was even walking around saying 'Scooby-Dooby-Doo!"

Uncle Thomas and his family were staying another day, so they closed the park down!  It was a fun two days!  We hope next year we can convince Uncle Jacob and Uncle Jordan to come with us.  Of course, we'll go when it's super hot so we don't have to wait in really long lines!!  Uncle Thomas said it was the best 6 Flags day ever!!

Amelia has had a fever since Saturday afternoon, so we headed to the Dr first thing this morning.  I thought she had strep throat because her cousin Thomas had it last week, and we had been with them.  Turns out it was Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease.  It's been going around at daycare, and boy did her throat look nasty. There's nothing you can do, but take Tylenol and keep hydrated!  

We weren't going to let this stop us from having fun at the zoo, so off we went.  As I've mentioned it's been ridiculously hot lately, and today was no exception.  It was 107 degrees out today.  YUCK!!  Believe it or not for as hot as it was it really it wasn't that bad, except when Amelia insisted on putting her blanket on my shoulder.   That thing is soooo thick and hot!!   We let the boys run in the water, stripped Amelia down to her diaper, and found misting fans (the only thing that made Amelia smile all day!!) and air conditioning from time to time.  We should have listened to Gabbi and gone and seen the penguins a lot sooner.  It was freezing in there, 45 degrees actually.  It sure felt good though!!  By the end of the day we were pooped and ready to head to the hotel.

Amelia seemed to be feeling better by the end of the day, but Alex started to go down hill.  I could tell he had a fever and he was not wanting to eat, so I started loading him up with Tylenol.  When we got to the hotel he asked to put on his PJs, so I gave him a shower and he was asleep by 7:00.  That never happens!!
