Breakfast in Bed

This is how you will find Alex most mornings. . . camped out on our bed with his cup of milk, Pop-Tart, and watching some TV. What a great way to start the day(most days anyway)!!!

Little Helper

Alex has been sleeping in his big boy bed with no problems at all!! Tonight we added some wall decor to his room. We got him a life size Chicago Bear's Brian Urlacher decal and some other Bear's decals. He was so excited about them. He kept saying "football." Luckily he had his new tool box to help us with the measurements and hanging and such. He was a good little helper!! Guess I need to take some pictures of the finished room now!! Someday folks, someday!!

Snuggle Time

Uncle Jacob came for Easter, but it wasn't until we were in Bunker Hill. Since we didn't get to see him much we headed to Jacksonville tonight to have dinner at Aunt Amy & Uncle Thomas' house. Uncle Jacob got some good snuggle time in with his niece and nephews!!

New Shades

As much as we enjoyed our Easter weekend, it seemed like Alex's ear was bothering him. He woke up Monday very crabby, so I stayed home with him and we called the ENT. They told us to come in, so after eating lunch with Daddy at school that's what we did. Low and behold Alex's right tube was still blocked and his ear was still infected!! We decided to see if they could go in and dig out the blockage. They put drops in his ears and then we had to wait about 10 minutes, then Mommy and 2 nurses held him down. Quite a bit of junk came out including the tube itself! So we are back on another round of drops and antibiotics. We head back in a few weeks to see how things are going and to talk about the probability of having to get another tube put in his ear.

On the way home, Alex was all smiles and sang the whole way home. He even sported his new sunglasses. I think a lot of pressure was relieved when they dug all that junk out of his ear. Let's hope we can get this thing cleared up!!

Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny made it to Nana & Papa's house!!! He brought lots of candy, a Toy Story book, sunglasses, a football, and a tool box. Unfortunately, I failed at getting any pictures of us all dressed up. I'm telling you, baby brain is in full effect!! I forget things all the time these days!! '

After church we headed to Bunker Hill to have lunch at Mommy's Aunt Glenda and Uncle Pat's house. Alex and Thomas had fun playing with the animals and riding cars. They even let Zoey get in on some of the action, but again I failed to take any pictures. Other than a little rain, which did not stop the boys from playing outside, it was a beautiful day!

On our way home, we made a quick stop in Hillsboro to see Great Grandma Furness and Grandma & Grandpa Kershaw. By time we got home I don't know who was more tired, Alex or me! Another happy day! We are so blessed!

Coloring Easter Eggs

On Saturday afternoon we headed to Nana & Papa's house to play outside. Thomas & Alex had fun playing outside with Maggie, the dog, and getting pushed on the swing by Uncle Thomas. We even took a walk down to the pond. Daddy went looking for morels in the woods, but only came home 3 little guys.

After dinner, we colored easter eggs. It was kind of a late night, as Uncle Jordan didn't get home until around 7, so dinner was late and egg dying was even later. We all still had fun, as Nana boils a ridiculous amount of eggs for us to color. Alex tried several times to eat the easter egg dye, but luckily he didn't end up permanently colored blue!! We then had to go to bed to make sure that the Easter bunny came for a visit!

Dr's Visit

Today Mommy took the day off work, Daddy was on Spring Break, and Alex went to daycare. Mommy & Daddy started the morning off by going to Dr. Putman's to get a check up on our new bundle of ever growing joy. Everything looked good and we are basically just counting down the weeks until the little one comes. I actually had lost a few ounces, and the Dr. asked if I had been eating. I told him yes, and didn't mention the large french fry from McDonald's I'd had the day before!! I head back in 2 weeks for another visit.

After the Dr., we ran a few errands and then stopped at JC Penney to buy a coming home outfit for the new baby. At this point we're ready for the little one to come as soon as I wash the car seat!

Beds all Around

Sunday Grandma & Grandpa Kershaw stopped by to deliver the cradle for the baby to sleep in. As I mentioned with Alex, this cradle was made by Daddy's Papa and Daddy and all his brothers slept in. Now the grandchildren are continuing the tradition, with both Alex and Evalee having slept in it. It really seems like yesterday that Alex was in it. Time really does fly!!

We were glad to get the cradle. It's the jumpstart Mommy needed to get her motivated to start getting other things in order for the arrival of our special delivery (only 7 1/2 weeks left!) I have washed baby clothes, cleaned out Alex's new room, and gone through boxes in the basement. We're getting ready for our first ever garage sale next weekend. I took tomorrow off work, so I plan on getting lots of cleaning done then as well!!

Alex was not as excited when Daddy put the cradle together because he wanted to go night night in it and he didn't understand that he was just too big. I guess you can chalk this up as his first little bit of jealousy over new baby! We were able to take him upstairs and talk about his new big boy bed. Alex even helped put the new sheets in the washer and the next day we made the bed together. Last night was his first night sleeping in his big boy bed and he did fabulous!! He slept all night and didn't fall out, so we consider it a huge success!! I would love to share pictures with you, but my camera batteries are still dead! I did actually put them on the charger today, but who knows how long they'll last! No worries, new ones have been ordered and will be hear next week!

Happy Birthday Uncle Thomas!

Tonight we drove through some crazy rain to go to Jacksonville to celebrate Uncle Thomas' 30th Birthday!! Unfortunately, I have no photos because my darn camera batteries died again! I have to get new ones ordered before the baby comes! Anyway, we enjoyed homemade pizza and salad followed by the traditional angel food cake, strawberries, and ice cream and presents!! Alex and Thomas had fun playing together and little Miss Gabbi is growing too big to hang out with us. Some how she got to have a friend spend the night on the night of her Daddy's birthday. Lucky girl!! She did give us a fashion show of the new clothes that her Mom and Nana bought for her trip in a few weeks with Papa to Washington, DC.

Tonight I was just taking random pictures of Alex while waiting for Daddy to take a picture of my belly. Alex was not interested really, but I took a few pictures anyway. I truly can't explain to you how much he loves Baby. This bear does pretty much everything with us. He even sat at the table tonight while we ate dinner, and of course Alex had to give him bites too. In the morning he eats breakfast and juice with Alex and then he gives Baby a 'bath' in our bathtub which includes drying him off with a towel and brushing his teeth and his hair. If he treats his new brother or sister with the love he does Baby I think we'll be pretty lucky!!!

Also a Happy Birthday to Aunt Sara. Her birthday is tomorrow!!!

31 Weeks Pregnant

Can you believe we only have 9 weeks left until Baby Kershaw is official set to arrive?!?!?! Friday I went for my check-up. I'd gained about 5 lbs, but since I had lost some at the visit before the Dr wasn't too concerned. I think I'm at about 16 pounds gained. I passed my blood glucose test, anything under 130 is considered good and I was at 117. My iron count is great, which is good because with Alex I had to take iron pills. My blood pressure was good too. Other than that the baby's heart was beating well and has been very active(actually doing quite a few kicking maneuvers as I type this!). My biggest complaint has been a lot of pressure in my lower pelvic region, which Dr. Putman says is completely normal. Of course, I've been having to get up a million times in the night to go to the bathroom but that too is normal!! I head back in two weeks for another visit.

I Go Night Night

Alex's new game to play is to tell you 'I go night night' and then he pretends like he is sleeping. You then have to tell him to 'Wake Up' and he jumps up laughing and carrying on. It's really the silliest little game, but it truly bring such joy to him. Alex really took a liking to Evalee's little couch/bed, and he played the game repeatedly on it. Aunt Sara says she thinks she's got a pretty good idea what Alex will be getting for his birthday!!!

Bath Time!

Aunt Sara just knew bath time would be just the thing to cheer EE up, so we ran some bath water. They both waited in anticipation and were so excited. Then we put them in and EE just wasn't interested in sharing her bath time experience with Alex. It was the first time she had taken a bath with anyone, and she quickly decided it was something she rather do on her own. Aunt Sara quickly washed her and out she went. She got her jammies on and pretty much passed out for the night. She was just a tired girl who didn't feel good. Alex, on the other hand, enjoyed himself completely!!

Evalee's 1st Birthday!!

Saturday we headed to Orion to help little Miss Evalee Ann Kershaw celebrate her first birthday!! Unfortunately for her, just like Alex she too had an ear infection, but her ear drum had also ruptured so she wasn't completely in the party mood. She was sure excited to see Alex and all in all we had a good time. The weather was amazing, nearly 80 degrees in the beginning of April is unheard of!! Poor little EE didn't much care to dig into her cake, but her Mommy did an awesome job making her cake! It was characters from Eva's favorite book, 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear'.

Not only did Alex get a present from Aunt Sara, but Grandma got Alex some Toy Story keys for his car. He absolutely loves them and carries them around everywhere. My favorite part of him driving in his cozy coupe is that he comes and gives me kisses and tells me bye-bye before he leaves. It's so cute and ever time he does it I savor the moment. He's growing so darn fast. He won't be my baby for much longer (well in the practical sense anyway). Also this weekend Alex started saying, 'To infinity and beyond.' The kid is a true Toy Story fan!!
