9 Months Old

Messy-can Night

Tonight we had tacos and black beans for dinner.  Amelia really enjoyed the black beans.  At one point she actually had the bowl up to her mouth trying to get all of them into her mouth.  She really is doing a great job with table food.  While Amelia enjoyed her supper tonight, her brother did not.  I have no idea what his problem was other than he decided to throw one of the biggest tantrums of his life.  Approximately an hour later he decided to eat his tacos.  I think this picture of him pretty much sums up the event, laying on the floor and all!!

 

Cute & Clean

Alex wanted to take a shower tonight so Amelia was able to take a bath in the sink.  Alex was really amused by this event and Amelia seemed to enjoy herself too.

A Play Date

Today we got up and went to church and then headed to a play date with Jill and Anthony.  We met up at Southwinds Park and played for about an hour.  Daddy stayed in the car with Amelia because it was toooo windy for her.  The boys had so much fun chasing each other and trying out all the swings, slides and rock wall.  Alex really enjoyed sliding down the fire pole like Fireman Sam.  We threw rocks into the pond and even had to chase after Alex's hat that blew away.

After the park we headed to Anthony's house to play some more and have some lunch.  Anthony was amazed at how big Amelia is now.  He was so happy that she could play with some of his toys.  He kept telling me how cute she was.  It was adorable to see how much he adored her.  By the time we left we had two tired little ones on our hands.  We headed home for a nice Sunday afternoon nap.  A perfect day!!!

Tell Me a Story

Tonight Alex decided that Briggs needed to participate in story time.  As you can tell Briggs was really excited!  Alex has been 'reading' to us a lot or repeating the parts that he remembers to us.  He also has been asking us to tell him stories that we have to make up.  I find it very difficult to be imaginative, but Daddy does an amazing job.  And then when Adam isn't around Alex wants me to retell the stories that Daddy has told.  I can't win!!!

The last few weeks Alex seems to have grown and changed sooo much!!  His imagination has taken off and it's so fun to see what he comes up. He has been pretending to be animals, a firefighter, race car driver, and anything else he can think of.  He is starting to do a lot of counting and singing.  He even professed his love for Brenna Clark at the dinner table the other night.  We really are staring to get a little preschooler on our hands. 

Afternoon Outing

Today is President's Day so we got an extra stay at home day, which were all happy about.  We lounged around most of the day, but after nap time we decided to head out to get some ice cream at Coldstone Creamery with some money Nana & Papa had sent us for a Valentine's treat.  We all enjoyed a sweet treat, even Amelia got in on the action.  She would look at Adam and smack her lips letting him know she wanted another bite.  It was so cute.

After getting our bellies full we headed to Lincoln Park for a little playground time.  It ended up being pretty windy out, so it felt cooler than it really was out.  We stayed for a little while and then told Alex we'd come back later.  It was nice to be out in the fresh air and spend an extra day together as a family.  Love!!

I Can't Remember

I'm a week behind in blogging and I can't remember why I took these pictures.  Other than looking at how well they were getting along and laughing with each other.  I just want to cherish the moments where they love each other and laugh together because I know we'll have some years where they aren't so friendly.  I speak completely from experience.

Sleepover

Last night Grandma & Papa came and picked up the kids for a sleepover.  Mommy & Daddy had a night out.  The Sports Boosters had their annual Prime Rib dinner fundraiser.  We had such a good time.  It's not often we get out anymore but it sure is nice to have some grown up time. 

The kids had a great time in Virden.  They were both pretty excited to see us though.  We took advantage of being at Grandma & Papa's house and did our taxes while we were there.  Glad the kids had fun and were well behaved because in about 7 more weeks they will be spending several days with them and Nana & Papa while Mommy and Daddy kick it on the beaches in Mexico!!!!

Walking Weather

We've had such a mild winter. I heard the other day that it's the 6th warmest winter on record in the Springfield area.  Today it was 50 degrees so we headed out for a walk.  I don't know who was most excited:  Alex, Amelia, or Briggs.

Also today Amelia finally was able to put it all together and crawl on her hands and knees.  She' been trying to coordinate it all and finally did it.  The girl is everywhere now!!!!
