A Family Tradition

Daddy and all his brother's slept in this cradle, and so did Alex and Evalee. Amelia can now add her name to the list. She's such a squirmy wormy that she can no longer sleep in it. Mommy's not ready for her to move upstairs yet so we've put the pack and play in our bedroom.

A Little Lift

Alex has been using his handy dandy stool to give himself a little lift so that he can reach things just out of his grasp. He's really enjoyed turning lights on and off or making it night time as he likes to call it. The kid loves to pose for pictures. I was trying to get an action shot and he has to stop and say CHEESE!!

Flying High

Today Daddy went over to his principal, Mr. Galusha's house for a dude's party. Later in the evening we got a call saying we could come over a take a dip in the pool. Alex was loving getting thrown back and forth by Dad and Dude. Amelia just chilled with Mommy.

Our Evening Out

Every year Nana & Papa come to Springfield and stay at the Crowne Plaza for a Rural Electric Board meeting that Papa goes to. We always go to the cocktail hour and visit with many of the members. It's always a nice time. Today we went early and took a dip in the pool with Nana. This was the first time Amelia has actually been in the water. I took her in first and then Daddy took her so Mommy could take pictures (we don't nned pics of Mom in her suit anyway!!) It was a tad chilly and she would gasp every time you put her in the water. Don't think she was a big fan, but we'll let her be her own judge next summer!

Of course, I had to take a picture of Amelia in her dress. This is the frilliest one we've worn to date. It was Evalee's when she was little. It says Little Angel on the front in rhinestones and has rhinestone angel wings on the back. It was a photo opportunity waiting to happen. Of course, Alex wanted to snuggle with his sissy so he jumped in too. It started out nice with him giving kisses and saying I Love You (which I don't think I've heard him say to her on his own before), and then it went south real quick!!

Football Camp

This week Daddy has been going to football camp every morning. Today I told Alex if he was good I would take him to the end of practice. He was already dressed, but insisted on putting his Bullets shirt and Daddy shorts on and taking his helmet. He had a blast even though they were pretty much done with practice. Amelia snoozed the whole time and I was sweating!

Alex loves loves loves football and has taken to watching old Bullet's highlight films and running plays in the family room. He really is reminding me of little Seth Kunz!! This football thing is no joke with this little man!!! Go Bullets!!

2 Months Old

Alex has been using this phrase every time someone sneezes.

It feels like I just posted about Amelia being 1 month old and now another month has flown by! In the last month you've grown so much, but we don't go to the doctor until next week to get official stats.

You are now smiling at us often and have started talking to us too. You love to talk to the animals on your playmat when Alex isn't trying to lay down with you. You are holding your head up very well, and like when we stand you up on your feet to check out everything around you. You absolutely love your binky, but have been spitting it out and attempting to suck your thumb. You usually get up once or twice in the middle of the night and you really prefer to sleep on your belly. You hate your carseat and do a lot of screaming when we travel. The rest of the family is learning to ignore your screaming fits when we are on the go! You also have a knack for knowing when you are in a room by yourself. It takes you no time to remind us to come and get you. Your eyes are starting to change colors. I think we may actually have a brown eyed girl. Your hair on the top of your hair all fell out, but it's slowly growing back in. Mommy can't wait to get some pretties in your hair.

You truly are a joy 99% of the time. I love to see Alex interact with you. He's such a proud big brother. The other day he was laying on the bed with you and he kept saying "Hi pretty girl and hi babydoll." Mommy calls you pretty girl and Daddy calls you babydoll. It's so cute to see Alex doing it too. We love you so much pretty girl!!

What's Cookin?

Tonight Alex made his own dinner. He grilled a bagel on his grill and then chose mandarin oranges, grapes, and mac n cheese as side dishes.

Mr. Fix It

Tonight Daddy was teaching school, so it was Mommy and the kids. We watched Toy Story 3 and had some M&Ms. The reason for the M&Ms is the little girl in the movie eats some jelly beans and Alex was crying for beans, but we didn't have any. I was able to compromise with M&Ms. Later on in the evening Alex got out his toolbox and was working on his mower with the pliers. He was getting pretty frustrated when I finally figured out he was really trying to fix a problem. . . a M&M had gotten stuck in the mower and he was trying to get it out. He really knows how to use his tools!!

Miss Amelia was giving us some smiles, but truthfully she has been grumpy and fussy all day. Rarely did I lay her down without her screaming, but every once in a while we got a smile!! And since I was snapping photos Alex decided to take a picture of me. We're still waiting for it to be developed :)

Reality

The reality of having little kids is having your family room overtaken by toys CONSTANTLY!

Today Thomas spent the day with us. Uncle Thomas and the little man came rolling in late last night, so Alex was so surprised to have a visitor when he woke up! The boys played hard from the minute they got up. Thomas loved hugging on Amelia. He kept saying, "It's OK Melia." There was very little arguing about toys and all in all they had a great time, so much they both laid down without being told and fell asleep!!
