New Year's Eve

 

 

New Year's Eve isn't quite as crazy as it used to be.  We're spending a quiet night at home.  You've been good 2015.  Looking forward to 2016!

Jump. . . TaDa!

 

Today Daddy had Ada sitting on top of the fridge trying to have her jump off.  She wasn't too willing to jump, but she loved to clap and say tada when she was all done.  YAY Ada!!!

 

End of an Era

 

The cleaning spree continues today and we officially say goodbye to the end of an era.  No more bottles in this house.  We don't have any more babies coming.  It's bittersweet, but definitely more sweet!!

First Pigtails

 

Today Ada had her first big girl hairstyle.  Nothing cuter than little pigtails.  She sat pretty well, but taking a picture of her was nearly impossible.  The girl is on the move!

Clean Up

 

 

Today I started some serious clean up.  It started with the purchase of a new storage bench for the laundry room.  We currently have enough shoes for 15 kids!  Alex and Amelia really enjoyed vacuuming and cleaning up. . .  for a little while.  It's all back together, but there is still so much stuff in this room.

 

After bath time, Ada decided to put on a little fashion show.  Isn't she the cutest?  I love how she is saying 'cheese' all the time!!!  She sure is loving her new baby stroller too.

Playing Around

 

Adam and I usually take one day after Christmas and have a date day where we shop after Christmas sales and watch a movie.  This year we hauled the kids along and didn't do much shopping but did manage to have a little fun at Best Buy with some Star Wars characters and got some play time in at the mall, and took the dune buggy on it's inaugural ride around the yard.

Post Christmas Nap

 

Ada brought me her cup and blanket cozied up to me and passed out!  Christmas craziness is catching up with her.  I'll oblige her.  I could use one too!

 

Finally Home

 

We finally are home from a whirl wind Christmas celebration.  Today we've spent the day playing with every new toy!!!  There are empty boxes and wrapping paper everywhere, but everyone is happy. We've done quite a bit of karaoke today.  No one will be winning singing competitions anytime soon from our family!  Alex and Amelia also have enjoyed trying to get through the electric wire trap without setting it off.  Daddy and Alex have also spent some time playing the new Xbox.  Adam even put my vanity together today.  I love it!!! 

A Few More Snuggles

 

 

 

Uncle Trevor and Aunt Ashley had to stop by and pick up Bailey.  We got to have a few more snuggles with Autumn before they headed home.  Alex didn't waste anytime getting out the Legos.  The kid is in heaven.

Christmas at Grandma & Papa's

 

We got up this morning and were off again.  We headed to Virden to spend the day with the Kershaw's.  As per our tradition we started the morning off with biscuits and gravy and homemade donuts.  We can barely get that finished before the kids are chomping at the bit to open presents, as if these are the first gifts they've opened. 

My favorite part was getting to give Eva and Izzy their dollhouse.  Eva had asked Santa for one, but Uncle Adam told Santa he was going to build one.  Eva was super bummed Christmas morning that Santa had not delivered her a dollhouse and it broke Sara and Travis's heart.  So it was wonderful to see their excited faces when Adam hauled in their very own handmade dollhouse with hand chosen wallpaper from Alex and Amelia. 

We spent all afternoon opening and playing with presents.  The kids loved loved loved their new light sabers.  Clearly the older Kershaw boys are super excited to be raising another generation of Star Wars fans.  Alex was over the moon with the entire paper box full of Lego's he got from Uncle Tony and Ada loved her new baby doll, bottles, and stroller.  The girls loved all their new dress up outfits, and Amelia loved the 6 new pairs of dress up princess shoes. 

We wrapped up the night by sending the train around the tree a few more times before Grandma & Papa pack it up for the year.  This Christmas was one for the books for sure.  So blessed.
