Baby Shower

Today Alex and I headed to Gillespie to a baby shower for my cousin Heath's wife, Kylee. They are expecting a baby in about a month! We did some counting today and this will be Great Grandma Meehan's 10th great grandchild!! The Meehan family is growing by leaps and bounds. We truly are blessed!! We have two baby showers next weekend too, for Aunt Sara and Daddy's cousin Lexi!!

Alex must be feeling a little better because he actually let Nana and Great Grandma Meehan hold him today. I guess it should be noted that they both had fun things like necklaces and canes to play with!! Hey, whatever works!! Tomorrow we head to the ear, nose, and throat doctor to see what he has to say about all of Alex's ear infections! Daddy has the day off of school, so the boys will be hanging out at home while Mommy is at work being jealous!!

Bullets Basketball

Tonight Alex headed to his first high school basketball game. It was the Regional Championship between the Bullets and St. Theresa, that didn't end in our favor. There was a lot of activity to soak up, and Alex didn't miss a thing. He was really good, but was really ready for bed by time we got home. It was two hours past his normal bedtime.

Alex is sporting a football shirt, since that's the only Bullets gear he owns. The problem is, it's supposed to be the shirt he wears this fall. Guess that won't be happening though!! Glad I put it on, so that he can get a couple wears out of it before it doesn't fit!! The back of it says. . .

Going for a Ride

Tonight Alex went for a ride around the kitchen in his big truck. He really had fun with it. He also stood up and pushed it around with help from Mommy. He seems way more excited about trying to stand up and try walking than he does with crawling.

Mommy and Alex are hanging out by ourselves tonight. Daddy is in St. Louis at a football clinic. Alex just went to bed, and I'm thinking I'm not far behind him. So tired for some reason!!

Tickle Time

Alex loves to rough house with Daddy. Daddy tickles Alex with his goatee and he just laughs and laughs. It's truly a sound I wish I could bottle up and keep forever. Alex is learning so much lately. He really loves to laugh and imitate you when you laugh. He also is starting to figure out that his tongue makes noises, so he's even more slobbery than he was before!!!

We're still fighting a double ear infection. Adam took him to the Dr on Thursday and got medicine for him. Then Friday morning as soon as I got to work, daycare called to say he was puking. I came home until noon and then Adam tagged in so that I could go back to work. Nothing like having to leave work when you just started the job a few days before. Thank God I have an easy going boss! I'm loving the new job and really love knowing I get to come home at a normal time every night. We truly feel so blessed!!

Last night Gramma and Grandpa Kershaw and Ma came over for a visit. Alex played a little bit better with them than he has in the past. Slow but sure he's warming up to people. He really just likes to be at home with Mom and Dad. What can we say, we're pretty awesome people in this little boy's eyes!!!

New Hat

I got Alex a new hat, and he looks like such a little man in it. Unfortunately he wouldn't keep it on long enough for me to get a good picture. The only way I can keep his hat on when we go outside is because he has his big winter coat on and it limits his arm mobility!

Who Doesn't Like Homemade Pizza?

As we all know, Alex doesn't miss a meal. Every time we eat, he has to have something to eat too. Of course tonight was no exception. He was really interested in my pizza, so I figured why not. He really seemed to enjoy it even though he didn't really get much more than some pizza sauce. He was making so many MMMMM sounds. He really thought it was good stuff, which of course it was!! Momma makes a mean sausage and mushroom pizza!

Tonight we had some fun playing around after doing a lot of crabbin' earlier in the night. Alex was a royal crabby pants last night and today at daycare. He finished his antibiotic today, so I'm wondering if it wasn't enough to get rid of his ear infection. I plan to see how he is doing tomorrow at daycare and then decide on whether or not take him back to the doctor. I'm hoping the ENT can work some magic for us in a few weeks!!

I must note it's so nice to have the opportunity to have time to play with Alex. This week I started my new job and get to leave at 4:30 every day!! I feel truly blessed to have this opportunity to be a working Mom who can come home at a decent time. I'm truly soooo happy!!!

Eligible Bachelor!!

Well, we had a quick Valentine's shoot this morning before work. Alex seemed to enjoy himself. His outfit needs to go in the category of 'false advertisement' because he's really not an Eligible Bachelor. Sorry ladies he's all mine!!!! We Love You Alexander!!!

Sooooo Sick!

We'll as it turns out Alex had more than an ear infection. . . he had the flu too. Friday we ran some errands after I got a haircut and stopped by Monty's to drop some of Daddy's books off to his friend Kyle. Alex ate lunch and then proceeded to puke it up! Thank God Kyle had kids and helped us clean up the terrible mess!!! We headed home and Alex took a long nap. He then got up and started having diarrhea. We called the telenurse and she said if he was still puking in the morning to call back. So on Saturday morning we headed to see Dr. Veronica. Alex ended up having an ear infection, and she said we needed to see an ear, nose, and throat doctor. He's officially had 4 ear infections in 4 months!

We headed home and soon after getting home Mommy and Daddy started not feeling well either. We all ended up having the flu, so needless to say it was a pretty miserable weekend at the Kershaw house. Alex was in a surprisingly good mood considering how sick he was!! Mommy and Daddy were not in such great moods. It really sucks being sick and taking care of the sick!!

So, our Valentine's Day was less than fun. I have a really cute outfit for Alex, but that photo shoot will have to be for another day! Maybe later this week! Also in the midst of not feeling well, Alex has decided to start clapping his hands!! He's also been working on waving!!

Today is President's Day and I have the day off. Alex and are chilling at home today. We plan on taking some lunch to Daddy, but that's about it. The Dr's office just called and have us set up with Dr. Philip Garcia, an ENT on March 1st. So we'll find out soon what to do with Alex's ears. I'm guessing we'll be scheduling surgery for tubes. Please keep Alex in your prayers.

Happy Valentine's Day

We also celebrated an early Valentine's Day on Thursday with gifts from Nana & Papa. Alex & Thomas got some new clothes for next winter and Gabbi got new pink Chuck T's and socks. She was over the moon with Nana's purchase. She was pretty sure Uncle Jordan was going to be excited too since he often sports the same shoe (not pink though!) Mommy and Daddy also got a gift card to Dairy Queen for some ice cream some night!! I'm super excited about that!!! Thanks Nana & Papa!! We Love You!!

Thursday after Mommy's last day of work for the IL Senate Democrats, we headed to Roodhouse to help Papa celebrate his birthday! Alex was of course in Mommy mode only, so he was a treat to be around! They told me at daycare he had been pulling on his ear, so we had a feeling an ear infection was on the horizon!! We had a nice dinner and yummy dessert with Nana & Papa, Uncle Thomas, Aunt Amy, Gabbi, & Thomas, and Great Grandma Meehan and Papa's Aunt Jane!

Bathtime in the Sink

Momma also got a wild hair when it came to Alex's bath. She decided he'd take a bath in the sink tonight. Alex loved the change of pace, and he even sported a little baby mohawk for the occasion.
