Last week Nana dropped Alex off at daycare and took the camera too!! Miss Kristy wanted to take some pictures to brighten my day since I'm just at home laying around all day!!! It's fun to see what Alex does and how he interacts with other children when Mommy & Daddy aren't around. As I've said before, we are so happy with the way Alex is taken care of at Just Kids!! We feel so lucky to have people watch him everyday that love him just like he was their own!!!

Today was a day I've been dreading for quite a while now, but I'm happy to say I survived. Today I went back to work after spending 2 1/2 months with my beautiful baby boy and my wonderful husband. It's amazing how fast this summer has gone, but it's back to work for me and Daddy officially starts football on Wednesday and school in 2 weeks. Alex went to daycare this morning from 8:30 until 1:00. Adam took him, so in my head he was at home with Daddy and not at daycare. That's what I told myself so that I didn't cry. I only called the daycare once, and they said he was doing fine. Which then made me wonder. . . even if he was being terrible would they have told me??

Well, anyway when Adam went to pick him up he was chillin in a bouncy seat, and both Lisa and Sherry said he was a good baby! Now, I don't want to completely fool you. . . Adam and Alex met me for lunch then ran a few errands and then delivered a mini-fridge to my office where they spent an hour with me, so making it through the first day wasn't so bad since I was with them most of the afternoon. I guess tomorrow will be the first true test. I also want to thank all my friends and my Mom who all called and e-mailed to make sure my first day went smoothly. All I know is I'm ready for the weekend, especially this one because Alex is getting baptized!!!

Daycare, Baby's Room, etc.

This has been a busy week! We went out to eat with Grandma & Grandpa Kershaw and Aunt Sara and Uncle Travis on Sunday at the Olive Garden. They then stopped by to see the baby's room. I still hadn't put all the baby shower gifts away so it was kind of messy, but they go the idea!

Adam and I went and looked at daycare in Sherman on Monday, Just for Kids, and we liked it a lot! Thankfully, they have an opening in August so our precious unborn child now officially has a home away from home! I'm so relieved to have this off my "to do" list. It was really worrying me, and Adam even admitted it was starting to worry him! That isn't something Adam does very often.

I got the rest of the baby's room put together on Monday too. Adam hung up all the pictures and I think we are good to go!! Thanks to Trista for having a good eye on our wall art! It looks great. I'll try and post pictures sometime this weekend. Work has just been really busy, even though I'm taking a break right now to write this blog!!

Yesterday and today I have been extremely tired and a bit crabby (I know a fountain Pepsi would help out greatly!!). I really hope I'm not like this for the next 6 weeks. I will be truly unbearable! Our child has figured out it can really move and has been moving like crazy lately. The child has also discovered Mommy's ribs!! Not fun at all, in case you were wondering. I also am experiencing some swollen feet and ankles today. I'm hoping it's because of all the running around I've done today. Need some flip-flops for the office! I have been trying to remind myself, that I am so lucky to be pregnant after all we have been through, but it's been kind of hard!

I go to the Dr. tomorrow, so I'll let you know what happens!

Weekly Dr. Visit

Adam & I went again today for our weekly visit with Dr. Galle. Things are continuing to look really good. The baby has grown to a whole 2.58 cm. This week the sonogram actually looks like a baby. If you look closely at the 2nd picture I'm pretty sure you can see a little face. The heart beat was beating well at 178 bpm, the same as last week. My cysts are getting smaller, and should continue over the next few weeks to get even smaller. Dr. Galle is very happy with the progress, and says next week we'll talk about making an appointment to see my regular OB/GYN. He said that last week too, but I didn't want to tell him that, so we'll just do it next week!

I've lost another 2 pounds this week. It's not that I'm feeling nauseous, but nothing ever really sounds that good to eat. I really had to make myself eat lunch today, but Becky and Brandy sat in my office and talked to me so it made it easier to focus on talking instead of eating. I know it sounds weird, but that just how it goes. I did feel much better after I ate though!

I had Election Day off from work, so I took advantage and went and visited 2 day cares: First Impressions & Cathedral Child Care. I liked First Impressions, so I put our name on that list. It was very similar to Children's House that we visited last week. Cathedral was just OK. The baby room seemed fine, but I wasn't impressed with the Toddler and Pre-K areas. They just seemed really cluttered, and that really bothered me. I figure if that's the only place we can get in when the baby is first born we'll go there, and then move to a different daycare when the opportunity arises. I'd like Adam to go back and look at them, but at least our name is on the waiting list at both places. I think we're going to go look at one in Sherman and then call it quits. Hopefully between four places we'll be able to get into one of them!

Back Blogging 10-31-08

Adam and I went for our weekly visit to see Dr. Galle. Things are progressing very nicely. The baby has grown almost a whole centimeter this week!! It now even has little hands and feet, but it's still pretty hard to decifer anything in the sonogram picture. The baby's heart rate was good, and was beating at 178 beats per minute. I have lost a pound, but nothing to worry about there. The cysts are also shrinking, but still have quite a ways to go. Dr. Galle says each week they should be getting smaller as the placenta will start making progesterone on it's own, which is what some of the cysts are doing currently. I'm still taking it easy, but that hasn't been too hard to do. I've still been feeling good (knock on wood!), I've just been really tired.

On a different note, we also went and visited our first daycare today. It's called Children's House and is located less than a mile from my office. Adam and I both really liked it, but the waiting list is quite long. There are 45 people ahead of us and they only have 8 babies at a time. The babies stay in the infant room until 15 months, so there isn't a whole bunch of turnover. The good thing is we do have some time, so we just put our name on the list and we will now wait. I am going on Tuesday to look at two other day cares, and more than likely will put our name on those waiting lists as well. It's so crazy to think that we have to start worrying about this stuff already, but that's just how it works! We're just going to pray that God will lead us on our journey to the right place. He seems to have done a good job so far!!
