Dr's Visit--Baby Coming Soon!!!

37 weeks & 2 days

My new Mother's Day ring!!

Today I went to the Dr. for my weekly appointment. Gained a little over a pound, my blood pressure was up a little bit, and I had a touch of protein in my urine. The last two items are signs of preeclampsia, along with the feet swelling that I have been having. He said both my blood pressure and protein counts were up just slightly, but he wants to keep a bit closer of an eye on me, so I go back again on Tuesday. He also checked me and I am dilated to 3 cm and 70% effaced, so more than likely in the next week we are going to be proud parents of a little baby girl or boy!! Dr. Putman also said the baby was probably between 7.5 and 8 lbs.

It seems so crazy to think all of our waiting and hoping and praying is about to come full circle!! When I got home from work tonight Adam and I decided we better go get a little boy outfit and a little girl outfit to bring the baby home in. I picked out an outfit for a girl and Adam for the boy, so we'll soon see which one we'll be using!! We also went to buy the pack-n-play that we registered for only to find out that it has been recalled! The swing we wanted to buy was also sold out, so tonight's shopping was kind of a bust. Don't worry we went to eat at the Pasta House and it made it all better. And, today my Mother's Day present came in as well.

Feel free to let us know when you think the baby is going to come and how much you think the baby will weigh, etc. So, anyway that's the latest, as usual we'll keep you posted!!

9 months pregnant!!

Today I am 36 weeks and 1 day pregnant, officially in the 9th month of pregnancy. I went to the Dr. today, which is the first of what will now be weekly visits. I gained 4 lbs in the last two weeks, however some of that is water weight, making the total weight gain 23 lbs. My ankles have been swelling quite a bit everyday, but luckily go down once I get my feet up at night. My blood pressure is still looking good, and the baby's heart beat is wonderful. I am dilated 1 cm, and Dr. Putman says I probably won't make it to my due date.

I'm fine with going early, but everyone at work isn't as fine if that means having a baby in May. These next 2 weeks at work are going to be completely nuts!! We're going to need to pass both an operating budget and a capital budget, plus the revenue to support all of it!! I am one of two people on our staff that does all the budget drafting, so I know they really want me to stick around to see this project through. I've been extremely tired this last week, and the late hours aren't helping. As a result, I was told to take tomorrow off work. This works out well, because now Adam and I can make the 5 hour trip to Ohio to see my little brother, Jordan graduation from Xavier University!!! Please say a prayer that the car ride goes smoothly. I'm can't imagine how many times we are going to have to stop for me to pee. Guess I won't be drinking a fountain Pepsi in the car!!!

Days are quickly ticking away and before we know it, we'll finally get to meet this little baby that is moving around like crazy in Mommy's belly and causing quite a bit of heart burn!! I've been having Braxton Hicks contractions lately too. So, that's the latest baby happenings!! We'll continue to keep you posted!

Growing Belly-34 wks & 5 days

So, Trista has been hounding me for a belly picture update. The thing is I've seen her more in the last 2 weeks than I have in a long time!! That's OK because I do need to get a new picture up. It seems like I've really grown since the last picture. We're just 2 days shy of 35 weeks, yes that means only 5 weeks to go. Let the countdown begin!!!

33 Weeks Pregnant

We now officially have 7 weeks left, and 5 of those weeks I'm in session at work. I'm guessing time is really going to fly by! As you can tell from the picture my belly is continuing to grow. A few people have told me I look like I'm ready to pop (I don't think I look that big!!), so I hate to see what 7 more weeks of growing is going to bring!!

The baby has been very very active the last few days! It's been doing some extreme acrobats! Becky, from work, saw my belly moving the other day. She said it looked like I had an alien in me, which is kind of what it does look like from time to time!

Adam finished putting up baseboard and window trim in the baby's room last night. Now all we have to do is finish putting away all the wonderful gifts I got at my baby shower on Saturday. I'm going to post pictures from the big event, but my mother-in-law has to send them to me first because my camera batteries died right at the beginning of the party!! Boo! Everything at the party was so dang cute though!! Thanks Trista!!! You did an awesome job!!

HAPPY EARTH DAY!!! Please Recycle!! In honor, Adam mowed the grass for the first time this spring!!

32 Weeks Pregnant

Only 8 weeks left can you believe it?!?!?! Yes, my belly is continuing to grow. We go for a check up again tomorrow. Daddy has been busy on his spring break this week. We got carpet laid on Tuesday, and I spent a good amount of time cleaning and put things back last night!! I just don't have as much energy tonight, but that's OK because I took the next two days off work to get everything back in order!!!

We had an enjoyable Easter weekend, and managed to see a good bit of family. We stayed longer than we intended to at my Mom & Dad's, but we took Briggs and he decided not to come home until after the street lights came on. Briggs and his buddy Amos were running in the woods for about 12 hours. Needless to say he's been catching up on some sleep the last few days!

We also need to wish Aunt Sara a belated Happy Birthday (she got to celebrate on Easter this year) and today is Uncle Thomas' birthday! Happy Birthday Aunt Sara & Uncle Thomas!!! We love you!

23 Weeks & Happy Birthday Dad!!!

Today we are at 23 weeks of pregnancy. Yesterday, left us with just 4 months left. Time is really truly flying by so quickly. My belly is seeming to grow quickly as well! The baby has really become quite active lately. Doing lots of kicking and such. Everytime it really starts going I'll have Adam come over to feel it and he'll feel it once or twice and then the show is over. It's almost like the baby knows Adam is there and just wants to be difficult. The baby always seems to get really active right before I'm ready to go to bed. It hasn't kept me up so far, but as the kicks get stronger it could become an issue. This week I have started walking 2 miles a day. I'm hoping it'll help keep me in shape, and maybe my body will recover faster after pregnancy. I'm hoping I can keep up the motiviation even with session in full swing!

Today is also my Dad's birthday, so we want to give him his own little shout out!! Happy Birthday Dad & Papa!!! We are going to Roodhouse tomorrow night to celebrate the festivities.

Adam & I have the next few days off work. Tomorrow is Lincoln's 200th birthday, so we're celebrating by going to register for baby items and stop by and visit Dr. Galle's office. They said they love to see sonogram pictures and growing bellies, and we haven't stopped by yet so we figured tomorrow would be a good time to do that as well.

I think that pretty much does it for now!

Half Way There!!

Today marks Week 20, also known as the half way point of the pregnancy. It truly doesn't seem like we're already half way there, but we are. This really makes me a bit nervous. It seems like we have so much to do before our little one gets here. I know it'll be OK, but it all seems so surreal. I'm adding a new picture of my growing belly. My dad says no more belly shots, but it's necessary Dad. This is part of history for our baby. It's a great way to document this whole experience. It's a reminder of how far we've come on our journey of trying for a baby.

On a different note. . . my appetite came into full swing yesterday. I came home from work and started cooking. We had baked pork chops and mashed potatoes. It was delicious. I really wanted chocolate chip cookies, but we didn't have any on hand. I settled for a rootbeer float. Adam offered several times to go get me cookies, but I just didn't want to be the pregnant wife that has my husband running all over taking care of his wife's crazy food cravings. So instead I went to the grocery store tonight before my haircut and bought break and bake cookies, cookie mix, and some Nutter Butters. I think that craving will now be very well taken care of. So, I won't be surprised if at the next Dr.'s appointment I've gained a pound or two.

One other thing I wanted to mention for records keeping sake, is that I went to Chicago on Friday for work. I was lucky enough to be able to take the State plane so it was only a day trip. But I wanted to have record of the baby's first plane ride per se. The baby was doing a lot of moving around during the trip until I put on my iPod, and then it pretty much chilled out. Crazy how the baby can hear all these different things. Guess we're going to have to start watching what we say!! :)

First Maternity Outfit

So, today I officially wore my first entire maternity outfit to work, and tomorrow I'm officially 18 weeks pregnant. These pants feel so much better than the jeans that were starting to get a bit tight in the belly. I got the shirt from my parents for Christmas, and bought the pants on a whim at Penney's the other day for $9!! What a bargain! The pants are the only purchase I have made, but did get several shirts and a pair of pants for Christmas. I also got a gift card to Motherhood Maternity, so a shopping trip is in my future.

I had Adam take these pictures of my first outfit, as well as to show off the belly as I had been promising. It looks bigger in these pictures than what I thought. I'm not really digging getting these pictures taken, but for the sake of my blog and sharing with my child in the future I'll take one for the team.
