It's a....

GIRL!  Ada Claire Kershaw was born at 11:16 am.  Molly delivered the placenta exactly one hour after the doctor broke her water.  Ada's first few moments of life were a little hectic, but she is doing great now.  The doctors had warned us that she might need some immediate care because of the meconium.  They took her immediately after she was born and started to clear out her airway and throat.  They had to start giving her air because she was having trouble breathing for about five minutes.  After that, though, she started breathing on her own, and all of her levels were very good.

The doctor said that any time they have to give air, they take the baby to the NICU for at least one hour.  So, we've been waiting to see her in the room, but the doctors and nurses have all come in and said that she's doing great.  Daddy got to go in and see her and snap a few pictures in the nursery, but neither of us have been able to hold her yet.

Molly did great!  She had a series of hard and fast contractions and pushed 4 or 5 times and Miss Ada was here.  She has tons of dark hair but since we haven't seen her up close we can't say much more right now, but we are in love regardless!
