Last night Alex and I went to Lincoln to pick Uncle Jacob up from the train. Of course, the train wasn't on time but we had fun getting ice cream and playing on the train tracks. Alex loved seeing the train up close. It was even better getting to see Uncle Jacob.
Mommy took the day off work and we headed to Roodhouse. Great Grandma Meehan came up to have lunch with us and Uncle Thomas and his family came over for dinner. We decided to skip the football game tonight. It ended up being a good decision because first of all it was soooo hot outside and secondly the boys did quite a number on Porta and beat them 49-7. Amelia got a lot of snuggle time in with Papa. Nana says she enjoyed it because her brain isn't fully developed yet and she'll soon figure out Papa is way too rough with the little ones. Alex & Thomas went on a lawn mower ride with Papa. It's one of their favorite things to do. They both also talked about seeing the tractors and combines working in the fields.
It was so great to see Uncle Jacob even if it was for a short time. He had a wedding to go to and then is heading to New York for the grand opening of his new gallery, Golden. We're awful proud of him. We should also mention how proud we are of Uncle Thomas who was recently named one of the 20 under 40 by the Jacksonville Journal Courier.
