Broken Water

Well, it's a little after ten o'clock, and the doctor just came in to check Molly. She's dilated to a "good five." Since we're definitely progressing, she decided to break Molly's water. The fluid was a little dark, and the doctor said that probably meant that the baby had a bowl movement in the uterus. She said it's very common and not a huge deal, especially since the fluid was still very lightly colored, and there is a low risk of really impairing the lungs when the baby takes his or her first breath. Anyway, since her water was broken, her contractions have definitely gotten stronger. So, we're progressing right along. We'll have another post later.
