Today was a very busy 1st birthday for Alex. He woke up this morning with a terrible cough, and he coughed so hard he made himself sick. Mommy waited until the Dr's office was open to see if she could get an appointment. We stopped at daycare to welcome Miss Lisa back. She's been gone for 2 weeks and I don't know which one was more excited to see which. Mommy brought the camera to capture the moment! It ended up Mommy got an appointment in the morning, so we went to the office for a few hours. Amanda brought Alex a gift to open too!! He got two polo shirts from GAP. We found out at the Dr. that Alex has Croup and that it's a virus so there isn't much that they do for it unless it gets really bad. But Mommy decided to stay home the rest of the day since it was a special day!! We picked up lunch at Chipotle and went to surprise Daddy with a little picnic in his class room. Daddy even had a Capri Sun for Alex. In the last few days Alex has mastered sucking from a straw. (I think Capri Suns are still just as good as they were when I was little, and so does Daddy!) After lunch we headed home for a nap and Mommy dusted while Alex slept. When Daddy got home we opened Alex's birthday present, which he absolutely loved. He played with it for a good 20 minutes straight! Daddy grilled pork chops, baked potatoes, and zucchini on the grill and it was delicious but Alex wasn't at all interested in taking one single bite. So we tried putting his candle in some banana bread I had made to see if he would be interested in that and he was!! So Alex celebrated his first birthday with homemade banana bread! YUM!! But you can really tell he's not feeling well. He took a shower with Daddy and then headed to bed. Sure hope he sleeps good and feels better in the morning!
