My First Words

Alex signed his first official word last night. . . Dog!!! Briggs came into the house and Alex slapped his leg and said dog, dog, dog!!! I was soooo excited. I've been doing this for the last week or two, but didn't know if he was paying attention or not!! He has though!!!! So, now we'll keep trying new words and see if he catches on. He also has been saying kitty, kitty, kitty. He really became obsessed with Aunt Sara and Uncle Travis's cats a few weeks ago. I haven't been able to break the bad news to Alex the he will NEVER have a cat as long as he lives in our house!! They creep me out terribly!! So here's to many more signing adventures!!

4 Generations of the Furness Family

Today was my first official Mother's Day!! It started off a little rough as I was up for a few hours with Alex early early this morning. He's working on getting 2 bottom teeth and he has 2 on the top that will be making their appearance before long as well. After he finally calmed down we were able to go back to bed and sleep in for a bit!! Daddy and Alex gave Mommy some wonderful presents. I got a gift certificate for a massage and a bracelet (but it's not here yet!) Adam also bought one of those silly cards that plays music, and Alex absolutely loved it!! He danced and danced. Adam said it was worth the extra few dollars just to see Alex's reaction! I also received a high heel shaped chocolate from Alex that he brought home from daycare. And Alex even started saying mom, mom, mom!

We headed to Great Grandma Meehan's for lunch and then stopped at the Manar's for a brief visit. Alex was very social today and visited with lots of people with neither Mommy or Daddy by his side!! Will pushed Alex around in the cozy coupe and he had a good time. We then headed to Great Grandma Furness's house for a visit. We had a long, but fun day. Happy Mother's Day!!!

When I was pregnant we were driving down the interstate and I saw a lady eating a corndog. I seriously wanted Adam to pull her over and ask her where she got it from. A few weeks later there was a subdivision garage sale and they were advertising Vose's corndogs. They are the best corndogs at the State Fair, and really anywhere. Adam and I went and they were the best thing ever!!! Today was the same subdivision garage sale, so we took Alex to experience the goodness. HE LOVED IT!! He ate an entire corndog himself!!! I think we've started a tradition!!!

Daddy's Little Helper

I bought new blinds for our bedroom windows a month ago, and they've been sitting in our room ever since. I told Adam for Mother's Day I wanted them hung up and he gladly obliged. Alex was a big help to Daddy!! Thanks Adam!!!

Potential Hoarder??

Alex has taken an interest in taking his toys and shoving them underneath the couch. If you take them out, he proceeds to put them back under. He started this a few weeks ago at Gramma and Grandpa Kershaw's house. I'm concerned we may have a possible hoarder on our hands. I hope not!!

Cool Kid

Not only does his shirt say that he's a cool kid, but his actions show you what a cool Mom he has! Who doesn't love to lick the mixing beaters? We had mashed potatoes tonight, and this served as Alex's appetizer. He even tried to eat what he dropped off the floor!! Good thing Mom keeps a clean house!!
