We went to Nana and Papa's this weekend to celebrate Christmas a little early with Uncle Jacob. We had a wonderful time, but sure missed Uncle Jordan. He'll be home for Christmas later on this week. Alex had a wonderful time, as a matter of fact he had a fantastic time!! He's finally feeling better. We didn't realize how bad he really has been feeling until this weekend when he was laughing and playing and just having the best time. He even let everybody hold him!!! We're so glad the little man is back to his old self again!!!

Alex is finally feeling better!! He was so happy this morning and was enjoying some face time with himself this morning while Mommy got dressed. I sat him in front of a full length mirror in the closet, and he ended up getting his finger stuck in between the trim and the mirror. Luckily I was right there to get his finger out, but not fast enough. He was bleeding profusely and screaming his head off. This happened on his left hand, so sucking his 2 fingers wasn't an option. He won't suck his right hand, and wasn't interested in a pacifier. Adam was headed out the door, but we were able to catch him. We called the Dr's office and they said we needed to go to the ER. So, Adam says alright let's go. I say (in my bra and underwear), I need to get dressed first. He thought that was a good idea!!

We made it to the ER and they took us right in. Alex had to get weighed, measured, and his temperature taken and then we were escorted to a room. We were taken care of quickly by a nurse, then a Dr came in and told us he did indeed need stitches. He thought probably two. They gave Alex a shot to numb his hand and then had to put him on a board and strap him down. This was too much for Mom to handle, so we headed to the waiting room. It took less than 5 minutes, and it took 5 stitches to fix his finger up. The Dr. said it was worse than what he had originally thought, and that the top portion of his finger was almost completely cut off!!

Alex is doing exceptionally well. He's napped a few times and had a wonderful play date with his Uncle Jacob today. We go back in the morning for a recheck. We then have to go to Dr. Veronica in 10 days to get the stitches removed.

This little boy is a trooper and all in all handled it very well!! Thank God he won't remember this event. It was much more tragic for Mommy than Alex. I will note that I maintained composure until we were driving to the hospital. A small break down was had, and then Mommy put her brave face back on. As Nana said, this will be one of many trips to the ER!!!

Breathing Treatments

Here's a few pictures of Alex being a trooper during his breathing treatments. He actually does most of it by himself since he loves to have things in his mouth!! Glad we have don't have to deal with a face mask. I think that would be much worse.

I had intentions of taking pictures of Alex in front of the Christmas tree tonight in his cute jammies that Uncle Trevor and Aunt Ashley got him, but it didn't happen. So just enjoy the his cuteness chilling on the couch!!! He is feeling so much better. Now we just have to get Daddy feeling better. He went to the Dr. today and got round 2 of antibiotics for a sinus infection. Hope we can get better and stay better for the holidays!!

Alex's First School Artwork

Today Mommy and Daddy got a big surprise in Alex's school bag. He created his first piece of artwork, a fingerpainted Christmas tree! Mommy was very excited. It's hard to believe how quickly he's growing. Soon he'll be opening presents on his very first Christmas morning!

My Poor Baby

As I mentioned earlier this week, Alex has been sick. He was miserable all weekend long, so we bundled up on Monday and headed to the Dr. Unfortunately we discovered an ear infection in his right ear and bronchial congestion. They gave him a breathing treatment and listened to his chest again. It was decided he needed to have breathing treatments and some antibiotics. We had to wait for a while to see if they had a nebulizer that could be delivered or if I had to go pick it up. Of course we had to go pick it up, and it was on the opposite side of town as the pharmacy I had them send his script to. So, I went to Walgreens and had to wait with a screaming baby even though it had been an hour since they had called it in. Then we headed to get the nebulizer and surprise surprise they didn't have one ready for us because they hadn't received the order! Again we had to wait with a crying baby. Three and half hours later we made it home and settled in. What a day!!

I'm home again today with Alex. He's doing better, but still not feeling good. He just wants his Momma. He's sleeping right now, and has been for a while. If nothing else I know he's sleeping better at home than he would at daycare. So, I'm taking advantage of the quiet time to do fun things like vacuum, laundry, and uploading pictures to Walgreens. A productive day none-the-less.
