1st Haircut!!

Last night Alex got his very first haircut by Cara who cuts my hair too. Momma wasn't ready for it to be done because I didn't want to lose those pretty little curls, but Daddy said the mullet needed to go!! We were completely amazed at how well Alex did. He sat right up in the chair like a big boy the entire time. Towards the end he was a little restless, but we gave him a sucker and he was good to go again!!! We saved a few little curls to commemorate the event!! Doesn't he look like such a grown boy now?!?!? Where has my baby gone??

One Down, Two to Go!!

This week we officially entered the second trimester of this little baby's life!! I celebrated by taking a plane ride on Monday to Chicago for work. I spent three days in Chicago visiting several Senator's district offices making sure all the inventory was there. I also had the pleasure of seeing my brother, Jacob, both nights!!! We had great meals and a wonderful time visiting. One night I even braved the cold and walked down to Daley Plaza to partake in the German Christkindlmarket. It was fun to look at all the little shops and trinkets. I could have ate my way through the plaza too, but settled for only a Bavarian Hot Pretzel with mustard. Yum!!

This was the longest time I have ever been away from Alex. I managed pretty well. I kind of enjoyed the quiet time. The little man on the other hand struggled a little more. Daddy said he kept walking around saying "Where'd she go?" Needless to say after getting over the fact that he was out of juice when I first saw him, he was very happy to see me!!!

Another Visit with Santa

Today we went and picked up Seth and headed to the Sherman Athletic Club for a little Christmas party. We had a great time, even though the weather today was yucky. We started off with donuts and juice for breakfast and then watched a great magic show. The kids really enjoyed it. Then Santa came in on a fire truck and we got to sit on his lap and tell him what we wanted. Again, Alex wasn't excited to see Santa, but he didn't cry either. Seth even told Santa what his baby sister, Elyse, wanted for Christmas. What a nice little boy!!

After pictures with Santa there was a toy drawing and Alex got some truck and Seth got a light sabre. It was a great morning!! Seth then came over to our house and all the boys played X-Box. We had McDonald's for lunch and then took Seth home. It was great hanging out with our Little Dude!! It had been a while! We're sure hoping Mommy gets to come home from the hospital soon!! If all goes well it may be tomorrow. It's been a rough week at the Kunz house.

Tonight we went to church and then to Cancun for dinner. Before we headed home we drove around Williamsville and looked at all the pretty Christmas lights. Now we're hanging out at home watching Toy Story 3. A great ending to a great day!

Yuckiness all Around

So Alex was sick last week and then on Tuesday night Daddy started not feeling good. He was in bed really early and still didn't feel good on Wednesday, but still went to work. On Wednesday night Mommy woke up in the middle of the night not feeling good and spent lots of time doing what Alex had done last week. It was miserable!!! What made it even worse was that Mommy was supposed to go to Chicago on Thursday morning with her boss for work. I had to send my boss stag, but I'll head to Chicago on Monday for a 3 day work stint. The boys will be bach'n it and Mommy will get to visit with Uncle Jacob!!!

We're hoping we got rid of the sickness early, so that we can enjoy the entire Christmas season sickness free!!!

13 Weeks Pregnant

Today Daddy and I headed for our first visit with Dr. Putman. We first had an ultrasound done. The baby was moving all over the place, they had a hard time getting a picture at first because there was so much activity. She even asked me if I drank coffee, and I said no it must have been the peanut butter sandwich I ate for breakfast! The baby measured right on schedule and had a heartbeat of 156. We did manage to get a few good pictures. Check out the lips on this baby in the second picture!!

Dr. Putman was running a little behind so Daddy didn't stay for my appointment with him, but he got to see the little one which was the most important part. Dr. Putman didn't have anything exciting to report. I still haven't gained any weight and he said things seemed to be looking really well. Now that my ovaries are looking better he said he'd like to see me exercising a little every day. So far that hasn't happened, but hopefully I'll get in a routine!!! Anyway, I don't got back until after the first of the year, so we'll just continue to hope and pray the little one grows and develops like it should!!

18 Month Check Up

Today Alex and I went for his 18 month check up. We had to cancel it last week because Alex ended up with a little bug and got sent home from daycare because he woke up from his nap vomiting. Once I picked him up we didn't even make it out of Sherman before he puked all over his coat. It was a rough 24 hours, but we survived!!!

So, anyway today we were feeling well and healthy!!! Alex weighed in at 28 lbs and 4 oz (79%) and measured 33" tall (72%). His head circumference was 48.5 cm (70%). So all in all the little man is growing and developing right on track!! They were impressed with his vocabulary and he even showed off by telling them the one color he knows. . . Yellow!! He even says it pretty well!! He had to get one shot and now we're good to go until he turns 2! Hopefully we can make it through the winter with no visits to the clinic, but Mommy knows better than to really think that!!!

Today we ventured out in the cold cold weather to get our Christmas tree!!! Right as we pulled into the parking lot it started to snow. It was a great way to kick off our holiday decorating!! It took me less than 5 minutes to pick out our tree this year, which is rather impressive. It's perfect if I say so myself!!! We have it all decorated and all the other decorations up too!!! Now we're just hanging out enjoying the lights!!

On a different note: we need to wish Thomas V a Happy 2nd Birthday!!! He had his birthday on the 2nd. And on the 3rd our great friends the Kunz's welcomed little Elyse Noelle into the world. Mommy & Daddy went and visited them at the hospital last night, and she is absolutely perfect. She's has the fattest little cheeks I've ever seen!!! Since we had a babysitter we decided to take advantage and had a date night too!! We went to Sebastian's and had a fabulous dinner!!!
