Christmas Eve

Growing up we always had a tradition of getting to open one gift on Christmas Eve. It was always a new pair of pajamas. I decided to start the tradition for the little ones this year. Alex wasn't interested in opening his gift, so Thomas opened both his own and Alex's. Gabbi was awful excited about her warm fuzzy comfy pants!! She's such a sweetheart and read 'A Night Before Christmas' & 'Frosty the Snowman' to Alex before he went to bed!!

Of course we all had to go to bed early so that Santa could come and deliver gifts, but not before Gabbi and I set cookies and carrots out for Santa and the reindeer!!

Holiday Baking

To start things off Alex helped Mommy mix up a cheesecake. He absolutely loved watching the big mixer go round and round and round. He was disappointed when all the mixing was over with. At Nana's house Alex helped Nana bake a cake, but unfortunately we didn't realize he was helping. He managed to turn the temperature up on the oven to 500 degrees. I had saw him by the stove and shooed him away, but didn't realize he had got a hold of the knob until smoke was rolling out of the oven and the cake was a goner!! This makes 2 years in a row that Great Grandma Meehan didn't get her fruit cake! As you can see Alex tried a bite anyway and offered a bite to anyone who was interested!! It wasn't good though!!!

Uncle Jacob and Nana made tons of different cookies and Alex had no problem sampling them all! It's almost like Alex knew he wasn't supposed to eat anything but junk!!!

Baby it's Cold Outside!!

After coming home from church tonight Alex insisted on playing outside. This baby just doesn't seem to care that it's cold outside!! Thankfully play time only lasted about 5 minutes!!!

All in a Day!!

Today Mommy had some help doing the laundry. We were even able to get in a game of Peek-a-Boo too!! Of course later in the day we also got in trouble for trying to get knives out of the dishwasher!! A little too dangerous we think!! So I figured we needed to document the some not so happy times at the Kershaw house!!

We did have an over all happy day, because we had lunch with Nana!!! We went to church and had tacos for supper. Now we're hanging out watching some football. Today we will be another great day of relaxing!! We even already have blueberry muffins made for breakfast in the morning!!!

1st Haircut!!

Last night Alex got his very first haircut by Cara who cuts my hair too. Momma wasn't ready for it to be done because I didn't want to lose those pretty little curls, but Daddy said the mullet needed to go!! We were completely amazed at how well Alex did. He sat right up in the chair like a big boy the entire time. Towards the end he was a little restless, but we gave him a sucker and he was good to go again!!! We saved a few little curls to commemorate the event!! Doesn't he look like such a grown boy now?!?!? Where has my baby gone??

One Down, Two to Go!!

This week we officially entered the second trimester of this little baby's life!! I celebrated by taking a plane ride on Monday to Chicago for work. I spent three days in Chicago visiting several Senator's district offices making sure all the inventory was there. I also had the pleasure of seeing my brother, Jacob, both nights!!! We had great meals and a wonderful time visiting. One night I even braved the cold and walked down to Daley Plaza to partake in the German Christkindlmarket. It was fun to look at all the little shops and trinkets. I could have ate my way through the plaza too, but settled for only a Bavarian Hot Pretzel with mustard. Yum!!

This was the longest time I have ever been away from Alex. I managed pretty well. I kind of enjoyed the quiet time. The little man on the other hand struggled a little more. Daddy said he kept walking around saying "Where'd she go?" Needless to say after getting over the fact that he was out of juice when I first saw him, he was very happy to see me!!!

Another Visit with Santa

Today we went and picked up Seth and headed to the Sherman Athletic Club for a little Christmas party. We had a great time, even though the weather today was yucky. We started off with donuts and juice for breakfast and then watched a great magic show. The kids really enjoyed it. Then Santa came in on a fire truck and we got to sit on his lap and tell him what we wanted. Again, Alex wasn't excited to see Santa, but he didn't cry either. Seth even told Santa what his baby sister, Elyse, wanted for Christmas. What a nice little boy!!

After pictures with Santa there was a toy drawing and Alex got some truck and Seth got a light sabre. It was a great morning!! Seth then came over to our house and all the boys played X-Box. We had McDonald's for lunch and then took Seth home. It was great hanging out with our Little Dude!! It had been a while! We're sure hoping Mommy gets to come home from the hospital soon!! If all goes well it may be tomorrow. It's been a rough week at the Kunz house.

Tonight we went to church and then to Cancun for dinner. Before we headed home we drove around Williamsville and looked at all the pretty Christmas lights. Now we're hanging out at home watching Toy Story 3. A great ending to a great day!
