There's a Monster Where??

AT THE END OF THIS BOOK!!!!

I can't stand this book and neither can Nana, but Daddy loves it and so does Alex's godmother, Trista so it's considered a necessity in this home. I was in the room long enough to capture the moment and then was off to cook dinner. I felt it necessary to capture the moment because I told Trista when we moved I was going to lose the book. She asked about it recently and I said I honestly hadn't seen it. Alex found it today and Daddy was glad to oblige and read the book to him!!

Weekend Visitors

This weekend Daddy was busy with the Illinois YMCA Youth and Government program that Williamsville High School participates in. This is Daddy's 3rd year helping with this event that takes place at the Capitol where Mommy works. Mommy took this opportunity to get caught up with some house work and TV shows she likes to watch and of course hanging out with Buggy!!

On Saturday, Mommy's friend Manda came over with Ashley and Hayden and a surprise visitor cousin Gabbi!! The kids had a wonderful time running around and playing while Mom and Manda caught up with the latest happenings. We even had a sleepover!!

9 Month Stats

This afternoon Daddy took Alex for his 9 month well baby visit, and we are happy to report he is doing very well!! He currently weighs in at 23 lbs and 8 oz (89th percentile), measures 30" long (94th percentile), and his head circumference is 46 cm (71st percentile). We have a very big and health boy on our hands!!

He has some drainage coming out of his ears, so it was hard to check to see if he had an infection. They are going to do a culture to make sure there is no infection. They gave us drops to try and help eliminate some of the ear wax build up. All the drainage is a sign that the tubes are working though!! There is concern that if there is too much drainage that the tubes will fall out and we would have to start over again. So, we are hoping that doesn't happen.

Other than that Alex is progressing very well and doesn't have to go back until his 1 year check up. How is possible that he is almost one. It seems like he was just born yesterday!! Time is flying, but we are loving every minute of it. We are especially loving this wonderful spring weather. Every night when we get home from work we've been going on long walks. It's wonderful, just hope the weather continues!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

In honor of the Meehan side of our little Alex, we had to purchase some good old fashioned Irish green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!! We truly have been blessed with the Luck of the Irish with Alex. He's awesome and we truly feel so lucky to have him in his life!!! Happy 1st St. Patrick's Day Alexander!!

Hanging Out at Nana & Papa's

Saturday Alex had his 9 month pictures taken by our good friend Brandy. As usual, she did awesome work and we can't wait to share the pictures with you!! Afterwards Mommy and Alex headed to Nana and Papa's for a visit while Daddy headed to a friend's wedding. Alex was his usual Mommy's boy self!! One of these days he'll learn to love the rest of his family!! He did enjoy playing with his cousin's, but wasn't so keen on the adults. Thomas has taken a new found love for cleaning. I told him he could come over to Aunt Molly's house anytime he wants!!

A special thanks to Aunt Amy for letting us use her camera since Mommy left hers at home and to Nana for my cool new St. Pat's outfit!!!

DUDE!!!

DUDE!!!! Who doesn't love going for a walk with Mom and Dad on a beautiful spring day and then come home to eat supper and Animal Crackers!! Life is sweet dude!!!

Surgery Today

Today we woke up extra early and headed to Springfield Clinic so that Alex could have tubes put in his ears. We arrived and checked in, and then Alex had to get weighed and measured. He stood up on the scale and even stood up against the wall to get his height. He looked like such a big boy!! Then he had his blood pressure taken and was given some Tylenol with Codeine. He played around for a little while and then got very sleepy. He laid on me and then the nurse came in to get him. He was so tired that he didn't even cry when she took him away. That made it so much easier on Mommy!! We were only in the waiting room for about 20 minutes and they told us he was done. We spoke with Dr. Garcia and then went back to see Alex. He was crying, but as soon as I picked him up he quieted down. The nurse had me feed him to make sure he wasn't going to get sick and then we were on our way home!!

Surgery started at 7:30 and we were home by 8:45! We had some breakfast and then we all laid down for a nap. We ended up sleeping until almost noon! Surprised Mommy and Daddy both, but Alex had a pretty rough night last night so we were all pretty tired. When Alex was awake he was as happy as could be. He was playing with the towel drawer while Mommy made baby food and treats for her girls at work that unfortunately will be working really late tomorrow night! He also enjoyed a shoulder ride from Daddy and played with Briggsy! We ended the night with a feast of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans!!

We also need to mention a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Uncle Jacob today!! We Love You!!
