Big Surf Water Park

Friday morning we got up and headed to Big Surf Water Park. Everybody had a great time playing in the wave pool, riding water slides, floating in the Lazy River, and playing in the kids area!! Alex actually liked the wave pool the best of everything. We stayed for about 4 or 5 hours and then headed home to get some lunch and take a nap!! A great way to start our vacation!!

Let the Vacation Begin!!!

Thursday after Mommy got off work we finished packing up the car, stopped to pick up condo keys from Nana & Papa in Springfield and then headed to the Eberlin's condo in the Lake of the Ozarks. Alex did wonderful in the car, and he only had a short nap! We arrived about 9:30 and Alex didn't go to bed until 11:00!!! He was so excited to have a little buddy, Tony, to play with. On the way down Daddy had to call Direct TV and complain about our bill, so Mommy took a picture of him but he wasn't very happy!!!

Nothing to Report

This last week has been pretty slow going. No pictures have been taken and no fun times have been had. Alex has had diarrhea for about a week and has been Mr. Crabby Pants!! Literally his butt has been broke out in diaper rash and he just hasn't been happy. Nothing seems to make him happy other than being outside playing with his bubbles in this ridiculously hot weather! Hopefully this week will be better, especially since we're headed out on vacation!!!!!

Monday morning we hopped in the car and headed to Grafton to meet Nana, Uncle Thomas, Aunt Amy, Gabbi, & Thomas at Raging Rivers (It's cool when it's hot!!!). It was a beautiful day and we had a wonderful time playing in the water. Alex loved the wave pool the best and Uncle Adam and Gabbi rode all the water slides.

After the water park we headed to Roodhouse to eat dinner with Papa and Mommy's cousin Aaron, his girlfriend, and his daughter Alexa, and Great Grandma Meehan. Gabbi and Alexa had a blast playing together. It's too bad they live in Texas and don't make it to Illinois very often. Little Thomas was giving lots of hugs last night, but especially to Alexa. It was a great visit and a super long day. Alex crashed as soon as we got in the car! Mommy and Daddy were ready to be home too! Sure wish everyday could be this fun!!

The last two weekends Alex has had the chance to have sleepovers with both sets of grandparents. Last weekend it was with Nana & Papa and this weekend it was with Grandma & Grandpa. Alex did really well with both sleepovers, but we were glad to have him back at home. Nana says Alex needs to learn to walk soon because he's so heavy to carry around. It made it hard for her to carry him because of her carpel tunnel surgery that she had, and he wasn't very fond of Papa (because he's always harrassing him!!). This weekend Alex got to go to all the 4th of July festivities with Grandma & Grandpa. He apparently was making the moves on his little lady friend Maggie Hawkins. He was giving out lots of hugs and kisses to her!! We'll have to get a picture of the two of them in case later in life there's a love connection!

Anyway, we thought we'd post a few pictures of Mommy and Daddy all dressed up for their weddings!!

Happy 4th of July!!!

Today we picked Alex up from Grandma & Grandpa Kershaw's house after his sleepover. We were in Carbondale for a wedding. We got home and took a nice long family nap and then got ready to head to the annual 4th of July festivities at the Gatschenberger's house. We visited with lots of people and ate lots of yummy food. So much food that Alex ended up puking ALL over me. It was in my hair, down the front of me and the back of me. So, we headed home to get Mommy cleaned up and Alex in his jammies. We then tried to make it back before the fireworks, but it started to rain and they started the fireworks. We just pulled over onto the side of the road and watched them from the car until it stopped raining and then we hopped out for a better view. Alex absolutely loved them. He did a lot of oohing and awing and pointing too!! He got to see fireworks last night too. We then hopped back in the car and headed home!! I forgot my camera earlier in the day so I don't have any pictures of Alex in his All American Boy shirt, but we'll add some later!! Hope everyone had a fun filled day!!
