Sliders Game

Tonight we met the Meehan's and Surratt's at the ball park for a Sliders game.  It was a nice evening and we all had fun.  The kids were excited to meet Speedy and they even got a few autographs on a ball from some of the players.  My boss gave us tickets to the game, so it was a fairly cheap night, only a few hot dogs, nachos, and drinks.  We also got free tickets for the kids to go to Knight's Action Park.  Double win!!!

At the Dentist

 

 

This morning we all headed to the dentist.  Both of the kids did a wonderful job and even better ended up with the best news. . . No Cavities!!!  Dr. Whiteside did tell Alex he needs to start brushing better in the back of his mouth, but was very proud of their good brushing habits.  This was Amelia's first official cleaning and she took it like a champ.  She even let them floss her teeth!

 

Next stop, Chipotle for lunch!  YUM!

Birthday Treats

 

Today Alex took cookies to school to celebrate his birthday.  We made dinosaurs.  He wanted yellow and red icing, but I did what I could.  They sure tasted yummy!!

Playing Marching Band

We had a busy day as we celebrated Alexander's 5th birthday.  We started the morning off with presents and breakfast at Huddle House.  A big waffle and some Texas toast is just what every 5 year old needs!  Then we were off to Jacksonville.  We started off with mass and then headed to Uncle Thomas and Aunt Amy's house.  We had hamburgers, fried potatoes, and corn on the cob for lunch, per the birthday boy's request.  Then we spent the afternoon in the pool and ended up coming inside because of a big rain.  It was perfect timing for some singing and ice cream cake.

We were heading home and Alex requested to stop at the park.  We were all so tired, but Alex insisted it was his birthday and he got to pick what we did that day!  So, we stopped at Lincoln Park for a little playground action.  Then of course, both kids had to go to the bathroom so inside the Nelson Center we headed.  The kids were super excited to watch the Zamboni on the ice rink. 

Heading home for the second time, Alex declared McDonald's was in order!  So we grabbed some dinner and finally made it home!  We ended the night with some sidewalk chalk, puddle jumping, and marching to an imaginary band in the yard.  A pretty successful birthday!

We love you so much buddy!  You are such a sweet loving little boy.  I can't believe how much you have grown up in the last year.  You are so smart and I can't believe kindergarten is right around the corner for you.  We are going to start working on not sucking your fingers anymore

20 Questions

Today on our way to Jacksonville I used the time to ask the kids the annual 20 Questions to ask your kids on their birthday!  For the most part I feel like their answers were pretty accurate for what happens in our daily life and not just random answers.  Alex and Amelia both asked Adam and me questions when I was done asking them questions.  It was pretty entertaining!

Alex's Responses:
 1.  What is your favorite color? Orange & Blue
 2.  What is your favorite toy? Cars, semis, and diggers (he's been playing with these a lot lately)
 3.  What is your favorite fruit? Watermelon
 4.  What is your favorite TV show? Star Wars
 5.  What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch? Hamburger & Corn on the Cob (usually it's PBJ)
 6.  What is your favorite outfit? Comfy shorts and the same shirt everyday (he has a rotation of about four shirts that are really too small, which is super annoying!!! If they don't hit the top of his hip bone they are considered too big and he won't wear them.  We've had lots of arguments over this!)
 7.  What is your favorite game? Playing Star Wars on the iPad
 8.  What is your favorite snack? Gum (he's really into these days and considers it a snack.)
