New Kicks

Today Miss Amelia busted out her new kicks.  Daycare asked that we bring shoes so that she can go outside and play with the big kids.  Why is my baby growing so fast?!  She really isn't a big fan of them, but hopefully she'll get used to them.  She kicks her feet up real high when I try getting her to walk.

As per usual, we spent time outside after work today.  Daddy cooked out on the grill while Alex mowed the grass and Amelia hung out in the swing.

I'm Like You

 

Tonight I'm trying to get a crabby, teething girl to sleep and Alex comes upstairs and says "I'm like you Mommy!!"  Clearly Amelia wasn't amused, but I sure was.  He'll hate me one day for this picture!

Porch Play

We spend so much time outside these days.  The weather is gorgeous and we love it!  Daddy spent the  morning spreading mulch around the plants, with the little man's help.  When he was done helping Daddy, he drove his 'rojo' car (red in spanish) and Amelia is practicing getting the hang of walking and cruising on the Radio Flyer rocket.  Today Alex dressed himself after getting a shower from helping with said mulch.  He chose a t-shirt, pj shorts, and work boots and he couldn't have been more proud!!  Thank God we were just staying home today!

Today Amelia and I walked around Williamsville with Brandy and her girls to several garage sales.  It was a fun time and we even found some good bargains, including a bike helmet for a $1!!  Way better than the $25 we spent last night at Toys R Us.  Brandy took a few pictures to share with us!!

 

 

Big Decisions

Tonight we had some errands to run and went out for dinner.  We stopped at Toys R Us (Alex's first time there) and boy was he in heaven.  He loved seeing all the train tables and driving all the cars.  It was a big decision on what car to drive, so he drove several.  It wasn't pretty when we had to leave all the cars behind.  Little does he know we found a John Deere Gator super cheap for his birthday! 

Jump Around

Amelia is really just now taking an interest in her jump-a-roo.  Boy did she have a blast jumping tonight.

Technologically Advanced

Alex was teaching Baby how to play the game.

Alex has been looking for his iPod touch for several weeks now.  Truthfully I had no idea were it was, but never bothered to look for it.  But you would have thought he won the lottery when he found it.  To make it even better Daddy just got on iPad through work so we have all kinds of technology!!  So much, that even Amelia is getting in on it.  She gets so excited when she sees it and loves to play the bubble popping game.  It's amazing how quickly they can learn how to use these things.  They'll know it better than me before long!!  Alex already knows how to get on Netflix and watch movies.  It blows my mind!!

Also blowing my mind is the fact that Amelia took a few steps tonight.  We don't have pictures, but Daddy did get a little video.  She's not there yet, but oh so close!!!

No More Finger Sucking

While we were at Walgreen's we also picked up some no nail biting polish to put on Alex's finger so he'll stop sucking them.  He was so excited about it.  I don't know that he understood the concept, but learned quickly that his fingers tasted yucky.  Sadly, I missed the first time he put his fingers in his mouth so I didn't see his reaction.  He's doing really well, so hopefully before long he won't be sucking his fingers or need the polish.
