Waffles Please!!!

Alex has not been very interested in eating supper lately. Tonight he kept going to the pantry, but we couldn't figure out what he was pointing at. Eventually, we figured out it was the syrup, which I then connected to a waffle. Adam got a waffle out of the freezer and sure enough that is exactly what he wanted!!! He insisted on eating in front of the TV so that he could watch Toy Story. This little boy is becoming quite decisive in his 'old' age!!!

Game Night Continued

The Minute to Win It night consisted of removing Kleenex's one by one from a box in under a minute, stacking 7 Moon Pies on your forehead and holding them for 3 seconds, stacking 5 dice on a tongue depresser being held with your mouth for 3 seconds, keeping 3 balloons in the air simultaneously for a minute (only Nick accomplished that!), and stringing 6 pieces of mostacolli on a piece of spaghetti held in your mouth. Finally we had a couples challenge where you had to make a single marble land in the center hole of an ironing board.

Happy Birthday Trista!! Thanks for inviting us!! We can't wait to play some more of these games. Soooo much fun!!

On a different note, the Super Bowl was tonight and we are sad to report the Green Bay Packer's are this year's champs. BOO! At least the Bears lost the NFC Championship to the team that won it all, but it's still doesn't make the pill any easier to swallow. GO BEARS!!!

A Minute to Win It!!

Last night we headed to Bunker Hill to celebrate Trista's birthday, but first we stopped by Great Grandma Meehan's house for a visit. She was glad to see us, especially after being cooped up for so many days from all the snow and ice.

It had been a really long time since we'd seen the Manar's, and we sure had fun. Nick, Lacey, and Camryn Wiesemann were there too. We had lots of good things to eat and a great birthday cake made by Lacey too. Then while the kids were all playing together, Trista had plans for the adults to have fun too. We played the TV game show, Minute to Win It. Will, Ben, and Alex enjoyed playing some of the games with us, but most of all playing in the aftermath of having to empty a Kleenex box one tissue at a time in under a minute!!

Adam even had time to read the sequel to Mommy's most hated book called, Another Monster at the End of the Book. Trista keeps saying she's going to buy it for Alex, but luckily that hasn't happened yet!!!

It's a Blizzard Out There!!

Today we hunkered down at home in anticipation of what the weather forecasters were predicting to be one of the biggest snow storms in history. It was about noon before things finally got going, but we're probably up to about 7 inches of snow and the biggest snow is supposed to happen tonight. We've been lucky enough to have power all day, even though it did flicker a few times around 5:30 pm.

Daddy headed out around 4:00 pm and shoveled the driveway to try to keep ahead of things, but he hasn't been back out. It's sooooo cold out. Briggsy wasn't very about having to go outside, but unfortunately it was a must for him. Alex has enjoyed wearing Daddy's snow boots around the house. It's a joy having him drag dirty boots around the house, but I figured I'm not attempting any real house cleaning until I have a reason to. It's just going to be an endless battle of picking up toys, etc. I may attempt laundry tomorrow if we have power, but for the most part we're just trying to enjoy some family time together.

Luckily both Mommy and Daddy's works closed so we didn't even have to take the day off. Alex's daycare closed early today and is closed tomorrow. Daddy already knows he doesn't have to go to work tomorrow, but Mommy is still up in the air. Regardless of whether or not the office is closed, I'm pretty sure I'll be taking a snow/personal day tomorrow!! Thank God for a warm house!!!

I posted earlier about going to celebrate Ma's birthday, but today is her actual birthday! Happy 87th Birthday Ma!!! We Love You!!

Happy Birthday Ma!

Today we headed to Hillsboro to celebrate Ma's 87th birthday. Unfortunately Ma doesn't really know what is going on these days, but she loves to sit in a rocking chair and just rock the day away. She's content to just be around people. Alex enjoyed spending a little time with Ma and we did too! Alex loved playing with the dogs, Daisy and Daphne. I think he was taken back at how little they were compared to our Briggsy!! He enjoyed chasing them under the table and throwing their toys to them. We were also able to see some extended family that we haven't seen in a very very long time so it was a nice day!

Trying to Breath Better

Alex has been battling through the bronchitis. He isn't a big fan of taking his medicine, but we are managing. We've also been giving him breathing treatments, which he tolerates pretty well. We just put a DVD in the laptop and that occupies him for the most part. As of late, he watches 'Big Trucks' over and over and over again. Nana and Papa got this for him for Christmas and they for sure have gotten their money out of it. It's actually called 'Mighty Machines' and it consists of firetrucks, city trucks like tree trimmers and street sweepers, and finally a visit to the garbage dump. The fire truck is by far his favorite!

Update: February 3, 2011

Daddy took Alex for a follow-up visit today, since he didn't have school for the 3rd day in a row!!! Alex got the all clear from Dr. Veronica!!!! Here's hoping we can get through the rest of the winter without another visit to the doctor!!!

A foot. It measured about 1 inch!

Today I am 20 weeks pregnant, half way there!! This pregnancy has seemed a bit longer than the last one, but we definitely had a rough start! Luckily things are going much better now!! Today we headed to Dr. Putman's for our 20 week sonogram and check-up. We are happy to report that are little one is growing right on schedule and had a heart beat of 152 bpm. Dr. Putman said things looked as perfect as they could be!!!! What more could we possibly ask for?!?!? I know some would say to know the gender, but sorry you'll just have to keep waiting and wishing!!

I have gained 2 1/2 pounds since the last visit, for a total weight gain of 6 pounds. I have to admit I'm pretty proud of myself. I'm hoping I continue on this path. It will make losing the weight afterwards so much easier!!! I have been having a lot of lower back pain, so he gave me some exercises and stretches to try. I'll go back again right before we leave for our trip to make sure everything is continuing to go well.
