Easter Best

After church we snapped a few pictures in our Sunday best.  I'm pretty happy with the outcome!  Now we're off to Hillsboro to see Daddy's family!  Happy Easter!  It's going to be a gorgeous day!

The Easter Bunny had no problems finding Alex and Amelia at Nana & Papa's house.  Their baskets were filled to the gills!  Lots of candy was consumed throughout the day!

Easter Round #1



We headed to Nana and Papa's house for a little cookout and some Easter egg dying.  We did have a little mishap, Thomas went down to the fire as we got ready to cook s'mores, and he fell partially into the fire pit.   He was able to catch himself, but still ended up with 1st and 2nd degree burns on his hands and wrists.  He sure was a trooper.  Unfortunately, that meant Gabbi and Thomas missed coloring eggs with us.  Alex and Amelia sure had fun.  They liked seeing what secret  pictures and messages Daddy was writing on the eggs before they dipped them in the dye.

Tree Down!!!

Today the tree guys came and cut down our giant sycamore tree in the backyard.  We were more than happy to see it go, and a little surprised at just how rotten the inside was!   There was also a small mishap with a branch flying into the bedroom window, but it's taken care of too.  The kids really enjoyed playing in the tree stump tonight, and were extremely dirty when they came inside.  They have to enjoy it tonight because tomorrow the guy comes to grind up the stump!

I took the afternoon off work to start painting and Daddy is working on the drywall and stone for the fireplace.  It's a full blown construction sight around this place.

PS Please disregard Amelia's outfit she had an accident at school today and this is what she came home in.   I know she has a pair of blue jeans they could have put on so she at least kind of looked normal!!

Callin' in the Big Guns

 

 

Alex had his final check up with the pediatric ophthalmologist, Dr. Krah today.  His eyes are doing well, and we got all the paperwork completed for him to start Kindergarten in the fall.  After the appointment, they came and picked me up and we went out for lunch.  Then they came up for a quick office visit.  The kids had very important calls to make, and were very interested in seeing the kitchen at the office.

Under Construction

This week is a busy one at our house.  We got a gas fireplace installed in the family room yesterday, and since Daddy is on spring break he's going to spend the rest of the week building walls and putting stone on the fireplace.  We also have a company coming on Thursday to cut the huge tree out of our backyard.  It's a busy one folks!

Tonight Alex was helping Daddy build the fireplace.  He's such a good little helper.  Sure hope he learns a thing or two from his Dad, because the Meehan family has no handy man skills!!!  Measure twice, cut once.

Baby Love

 

The kids are noticing my growing belly and wanted to give the baby some love.  It was pretty cute!

I think it's interesting that my belly is smaller now than it was several weeks ago.  The kids are just more in tune with it now that they know there is a baby in there!  I'm 12 weeks pregnant and just about ready to head into the second trimester.  Fingers crossed it's a smooth one!  Other than being extremely tired, I'm feeling much better and almost like a productive, contributing to life person again.
