Sweet Dreams

Somebody was up extra early today, and had to have a mid-morning snooze.  I obliged and held her while Daddy and Alex returned the carpet cleaner.  The laundry will wait!!!

Success!!

I find it appropriate that we can have a success after our sump pump fail!!  Tonight Amelia peed on the potty!!!!  This is just the beginning, but it's a positive step.  I don't have any pictures because it was in the middle of basement clean up, carpet cleaning, and bath time.  As she ran out to tell me her feet got wet from the wet carpet and she slipped and fell in the kitchen.  There were too many things going on to take a picture, but the excitement we all shared will hopefully be recreated several times in the months to come.  We're hoping she is a bit more motivated to pee on the potty and wear undies than her big brother was.

Speaking of her big brother, he's been wearing big boy undies to bed for the last few months.  He's not had any accidents and is doing a fantastic job.  Of course, he would make this decision after I just bought a ton of pull ups for night time.  That's OK, sister will be wearing them before we know it!!!

Fail!

Yes, our sump pump failed today and now we have about an inch of water in our basement.  Yes, that is in the basement that hasn't even been finished for an entire year yet.  Yes, the basement that doesn't even have the carpet paid for yet.  Luckily, Adam was able to get it going again.  Now we are left with lots of water to clean up, but luckily we don't think anything is ruined.

Adam  has rented a heavy duty carpet cleaner to suck up the water.  He's ripped up the carpet and we're attempting to dry everything out.  Fingers crossed.  It's crazy last year we were praying for just a bit of rain, and this year we've got so much we don't know what to do with it.  The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away!!

More than anything I'm thankful to have a husband who does all the dirty work, while I just try to keep our little lovelies out of the way!

Happy Birthday Uncle Thomas

After a yummy breakfast, we headed to Jacksonville to go to mass and then to Uncle Thomas' house to celebrate his birthday!  His birthday is actually tomorrow.  It was a beautiful day today, so we spent our time playing outside.  We had steaks, baked potatoes, asparagus, salad, and ice cream cake.  Feeling so blessed to spend time with our family!  Happy Birthday Uncle Thomas!!

A Visitor

Tonight we had a very special visitor come over, our old friends Jill and Anthony Rock-Nottage!!!  It was sooo great seeing them.  The boys really enjoyed playing together.  They bounced from one activity to the other.  Sure wished we lived closer together.  This summer we are going to try to make a trip to Chicago to visit with them!

Also a special shout out to Evalee who is 3 today and to Uncle Jordan who is 26!!  Hope you both had great days!  We love you!

Pineapple Party

After a long nap, we had two rejuvenated kids who were more than excited to cut up the pineapple I had bought.  They sat and ate about half of it.  It was pretty tasty! Alex announced that we were having a pineapple party.  I'm so glad they like their fruit and veggies.
