It's been an incredibly busy week, I've not been feeling 100% and I'm more than ready for the weekend.  Starting off with snuggles from Amelia is a perfect start, followed by reading my book, eating ice cream, and snuggling wiht Alex

Inauguration Day

Today was the Inauguration of the 98th General Assembly of the Illinois Senate.  It was a special one, as a former co-worker and boss and still friend, Andy Manar, was sworn in as a the Illinois State Senator for the 48th Legislative District.  

It was a crazy busy day, and a lot of planning went into the day but it was perfect.  It was nice to end the day hanging out with my best friend, Trista, the 'First Lady' as I now like to call her or 'the Senator's Wife'.

Memory

 

Alex has really started enjoying playing games.  As of late, it's Memory.  He's pretty darn good at it too, but sometimes he tries to pull a fast one on Daddy and flip three cards over instead of two!!  He's a smart one and Daddy gets a bit competitive!!

Come on Over

This morning we got a text from Aunt Amy asking what we were doing today. I told her nothing, and they asked if they could come over.  We said, "come on over!"  The kids played and played, mostly superheroes (hence the no shirts!!) and we hung out and watched the Illini basketball game and the NFL football playoffs.

It was a nice lazy day with the family.  PERFECT in my book!!

After finally waking up this morning, Daddy got Alex dressed.  But Alex had other plans, he wanted to wear a tie and get dressed up for Brenna.  Alex and Brenna have been had a little thing going on for quite a while now, and he's just trying to keep his swag up.  So, today he wore his new tie and cowboy boots that he got for Christmas.  I Love It!!!

Good Morning or Not

 

Amelia was all smiles this morning.  Alex on the other hand wasn't feeling quite the same!!  It's hard getting back into the swing of the morning routine after being on Christmas vacation!!
