Birthday Books

 

My good friend, Amanda, always gets the best books for the kids for their birthday.  This year was no different, and they were completely excited.

Baseball

 

 

Tonight I took a bigger blanket for Ada to sit on tonight, but she wasted no time moving it out of the way so she could get to the grass.  She's wasting no time trying to out smart her Momma.   I loved watching the girls together tonight.  And Daddy can always get a smile and giggle out of Amelia.  Their laughter was music to my ears.  As you can see, Alex felt like he was missing out on our fun so he had to try to get in on the silliness from the field.  Thank goodness these games are only 3 innings long, because the boys lose interest and you can only say watch the ball and quit playing in the dirt so many times!!!!

School's Out For Summer

 

Today officially wraps up Alex's first year at SES.  We celebrated by taking him to Dairy Queen for lunch.  He spent the afternoon with Daddy at school because Daddy still has grades to finish.  Cheers to a great summer!!!

First Wagon Ride

 

Today Ada had her first wagon ride as we headed to the park for Alex's baseball game.  She loved it!!

Play Day at School

 

Today was a nothing but fun and games at school.  A pretty great way to end the school year and celebrate Alex's birthday!  He brought sugar cookies to share with all his classmates.  They were quite a hit amongst the teachers as well I hear.

Happy 6th Birthday Alexander Stephen!

Today Alex celebrates his 6th birthday, and his last full day of Kindergarten.  It doesn't even seem remotely possible but it is true.  You are growing so tall and it worries me how much you eat because I don't think we will be able to afford the grocery bill when you are a teenager.  I don't even want to think about you being that old!  You can be so sweet and so kind, but man you are hard headed and stubborn!  I know you come by it honestly.  You are fantastic cuddle bug and are great helper when you want to be.  Kindergarten has given you the confidence to be independent and try things out on your own.  You love math and are getting pretty good at reading.  It's truly amazing how much you learn in just one year of school.  You love to play Legos but playing cars and trucks and construction site is your all time favorite.  Mom and Dad are so proud of you and love you to the moon and back.

We started the morning off with Casey's donuts and birthday presents.  Daddy built Alex a sandbox and he even got a digger to go in it.  He also got a few X-Box games that he's been wanting, a suitcase, and some clothes.  Alex is really into cut off shirts so I got him so sleeveless shirts for the summer.  Alex took cookies to school to celebrate with his classmates.

After school he wanted a wiener roast with s'mores for his birthday dinner.  We also had some corn on the cob, which was pretty good for so early in the year.  It was a beautiful night for being outside, so Alex chose well.  Ada enjoyed swinging for the first time and the kids absolutely loved the sandbox.  It's going to be a great summer!!!
