Time for Bed

Alex thought it was hilarious that I had his couch on top of our bed tonight.  I was vacuuming and needed it out of the way.  He seriously laughed and wollered around on that thing.  It made it hard to get him to settle down for bed time.

He's been so hard to put to bed every night.  He fights sleep and always has to have one of us lay down with him.  He'll find every excuse to get up.  He also loves to have his back rubbed.  He'll pull up the back of his shirt and whine "Will you rub my back?"  I mean who doesn't love a good back rub, but really?!?!  He will finally give in and then wakes up sometime during the night crying and he comes downstairs and sleeps in our room.  We've compromised by letting him sleep on his couch instead of in the middle of our bed.  This phase can stop at anytime now!!

Dog Days

So we aren't in the dog days of summer yet, but we do love to play with our Briggsy.

Super Hero

Alex loves to fly like a super hero.

Swinging

Tonight we were swinging golf clubs and on the swingset.  Daddy and Alex love to chip golf balls in the back yard and Briggs goes and retrieves them.  It's pretty much a win-win situation.  Poor Alex really struggles because 1) the clubs are too big for him and 2) he needs left handed clubs.  I think I see a birthday present in his future.  Alex was really entertained when Briggs would take the ball and put it in his water bowl.  What little boy doesn't like to get his hands in some water.

Alex also helped push Amelia in her swing.  He was trying to push her high in the sky like he likes to go.  She isn't so much a fan of going high though.  She's going to be like her Momma!  And silly Alex loves to swing in his sister's swing instead of the big boy swing.  He's such a goof ball.

Walking Around

Amelia is really practicing walking a lot these days.  She can take a few steps by herself, but prefers to have some assistance.  She is everywhere!!!  She really likes to push Alex around in his car, but Alex likes to move at a bit of a faster pace.  She's had a few falls, but she's tough!!

Library Time

 

Tonight Alex and I headed up to the library for the last story time.  They are going to take a break from Wednesday night story time for the summer.  Alex won't be able to go the summer program, but I'm sure we'll still go to the library for visits.  Alex insisted on pushing our books home.  It took way longer to get home then it did to get there.  It took likes of coaxing to get him in the stroller, but we were running late and we didn't have time to take a leisurely stroll.  I finally convinced him to get in the stroller until we got to the railroad tracks.  That worked great, and little did he know getting to the train tracks meant we were steps away from the library!!

New Kicks

Today Miss Amelia busted out her new kicks.  Daycare asked that we bring shoes so that she can go outside and play with the big kids.  Why is my baby growing so fast?!  She really isn't a big fan of them, but hopefully she'll get used to them.  She kicks her feet up real high when I try getting her to walk.

As per usual, we spent time outside after work today.  Daddy cooked out on the grill while Alex mowed the grass and Amelia hung out in the swing.
