Surgery Today

Today we woke up extra early and headed to Springfield Clinic so that Alex could have tubes put in his ears. We arrived and checked in, and then Alex had to get weighed and measured. He stood up on the scale and even stood up against the wall to get his height. He looked like such a big boy!! Then he had his blood pressure taken and was given some Tylenol with Codeine. He played around for a little while and then got very sleepy. He laid on me and then the nurse came in to get him. He was so tired that he didn't even cry when she took him away. That made it so much easier on Mommy!! We were only in the waiting room for about 20 minutes and they told us he was done. We spoke with Dr. Garcia and then went back to see Alex. He was crying, but as soon as I picked him up he quieted down. The nurse had me feed him to make sure he wasn't going to get sick and then we were on our way home!!

Surgery started at 7:30 and we were home by 8:45! We had some breakfast and then we all laid down for a nap. We ended up sleeping until almost noon! Surprised Mommy and Daddy both, but Alex had a pretty rough night last night so we were all pretty tired. When Alex was awake he was as happy as could be. He was playing with the towel drawer while Mommy made baby food and treats for her girls at work that unfortunately will be working really late tomorrow night! He also enjoyed a shoulder ride from Daddy and played with Briggsy! We ended the night with a feast of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans!!

We also need to mention a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Uncle Jacob today!! We Love You!!

After the shower we hung out for a while at Grandma & Grandpa's house. Alex had fun playing with Grandma's Easter decorations. He also made friends with Ma's dog, Lady. Alex was also trying to talk to his cousin's but she wasn't interested in coming out and playing yet!! Hopefully soon, we can't wait!!!

Alex had the pleasure of attending another baby shower this weekend!! It was in honor of Aunt Sara who is going to have a baby girl in about a month!! We're so excited and can't wait to meet her!! Alex was the man of the hour yesterday, as a matter of fact he was the only man at the shower. Here are a few pictures of him with some of his biggest fans!!

Happy Early Birthday Briggs!!

Tomorrow our little Briggsy will be 2 years old!! We unfortunately have nothing planned! He'll probably get a new bone and a few extra treats!! Alex has been really interested in him lately. They are going to be great buddies before long!!! Happy Birthday Briggs!!

Kitchen Help

I had some help in the kitchen tonight while I was making supper. Alex was banging around on the pots and pans while I cooked chili and spaghetti sauce. He was a good little helper if I do say so myself!!!

9 Months Old

It's hard to believe you've been on this earth as long as you were in Mommy's belly!! These 9 months have truly flown by, and you've grown so much in the last month. We've battled a few more ear infections and the flu, so it's been a pretty rough month. You are now clapping and waving and trying to crawl. You were waving at some girls and the statues at church on Saturday night. We think you may be more interested in walking instead of crawling, as you love to stand up on the couch and look out the window. You love bath time and when Mommy sings songs to you. You've become very vocal lately and you always seem to be laughing (at least when we are at home by ourselves!) You have a toy maraca that plays music and names colors and numbers that you love to shake around. We've also been practicing rolling a ball back and forth to each other. You don't miss a meal, and think every time somebody else is eating that you should be too! Yesterday, you had pancakes for breakfast with Mommy and Daddy. You are also more interested in drinking from our cup than you would a sippy cup. You try so hard to be a big boy!! You always let Mommy and Daddy know if you want something else by crying until you get your way (like right now as I type this blog because you want the remote control. You also love our cell phones!). You only suck your fingers when you are ready for bed, and are a great cuddle bug when you are tired. You still don't sleep through the night, but we are hoping once the ear infection go away that that will change!! We love you so much Alexander!!

Today we went to see Dr. Garcia about all of Alex's ear infections. He said Alex was a perfect candidate for tubes. He will be going in next Monday morning for the procedure. We're sure hoping to see a difference. When he looked in his ears today he said they were both infected, so we are trying yet another antibiotic. The little man has been a trooper through it all. As a matter of fact, he didn't even cry when he got his check-up today!! We were proud of him!! So if you could, please say a prayer for Alex next Monday!!
